What are we doing? Why are the leaders of our party—the party that is supposed to stand for balanced budgets and fiscal sanity—giving up on the fight? Why did our party’s leadership essentially caucus with the Democrats in order to work against us?

2010 was the year that the TEA Party fed furor over the socializing and increasing size & reach of Govt had common everyday people get involved to say “Enough – no more”.  It gave the Republicans in the House, where they hold the power of the purse, a majority. We heard lots of promises during the campaign and a lot of words during the start of that session, among them “limited govt”, debt ceiling”, “spending” and “taxes”.  Fiscal frugality, here we come!

Yeah.  Sure. Charlie Brown in the grassroots and today, the DC Republicans in the House AND the Senate assumed their normal role of Lucy and the football.  Over and over again, we heard from these “brave” solons that we were not to worry – THEY would take charge and implement fiscal sanity.  And today, against all Republican Principle, the Platform, and the promises made during their campaigns and rhetoric spewed the last couple of years, they handed their Constitutional power of the purse over to Obama.  They voted, with no shame it seems, to suspend the debt ceiling (enacted in 1905) until March of 2015.  NO limit, no covenants, no promises from the most UNlimited spending President we’ve ever had.  One that has already spent $7.7 Trillion in 6 years.  And now has his hands completely unbound.  Yeah, this is gonna work out well.

Tyler Deaton used to work for the same people who paid Mo Baxley.  Baxley was a progressive shill for out-of-state, NYC based, liberal gay-rights money.    Deaton took over to push the same agenda, with the same money, but as a Republican.  Without getting too technical, the goal was to use political influence to normalize the homosexual lifestyle.  Under Deaton it would be about inclusion in the Republican Party.

Now, Deaton is with the Young Republicans, and he’s passing a verbal Gall stone over the “inclusion” of Rick Santorum in a conference designed to stimulate discussion about expanding the base of the GOP.

“It’s embarrassing for the New Hampshire Republican Party to associate itself with Rick Santorum, especially at a time when we have so much opportunity to be successful,” he told the Granite Status.

Connecticut has made thousands of gun owners into criminals by passing a law that criminalizes legal weapons owned by its “citizens”, or subjects.

And here is a quote from the guy who intends to make a name for himself disarming Connecticut ’s subjects – much like any king, dictator, or tyrant would, and have for centuries.

According to Mike Lawlor, Connecticut ’s top official in criminal justice, the state could send residents who are in violation a letter to remind them that they must register their firearms. Such a campaign could increase the state’s registration numbers significantly, since many might not have realized that they had to register rifles by the end of 2013, Lawlor added.

However, Lawlor said that as of today, such unregistered guns are now illegal.

S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley said Tuesday that she backs a proposal that would make it legal for most South Carolinians to carry guns – concealed or in the open – without a permit or the training that the state currently requires.

Haley made her comments after she signed into law a bill that allows gun owners with licenses to carry concealed weapons into businesses that serve alcohol – restaurants and bars – as long as they do not drink alcohol and the businesses did not bar guns.

After signing the restaurant and bar bill, Haley said she backs a pending state Senate bill, called the “Constitutional Carry Act,” that would eliminate the state’s current permitting and training requirements for citizens who wish to carry firearms.

Gunlaws.com puts the idea like this: “No tests. No taxes. No paperwork. No fingerprints in the criminal database. No photographs. No expiration dates. No plastic-coated permission slip. Just rights. For all law-abiding adults.”

The process of ending HB 1589 began with the vote to amend the bill and turn it into a committee to…  study the correlation between current New Hampshire law and the low violent crime rate in this state.

Democrats cry, and whine, and demand, and spout their talking points about guns and background checks, misrepresenting facts at every turn, but the biggest barrier is their inability or unwillingness to explain why states with the strictest gun laws have more crime while states like New Hampshire and Vermont (with very loose or open gun laws) consistently have the lowest violent crime rates in the nation.

Turns out, most NH Democrats still don’t want to look at that.  They were happy to kill it altogether rather than subject themselves to the reality.  New Hampshire’s low crime rate has a lot to do with its strong defense of second amendment rights.

If New Hampshire were to expand the program, the federal government would pick up the full cost for the first three years and 90 percent over the long haul. New Hampshire’s health care providers would share in an estimated $2.4 billion over seven years.

The bipartisan agreement would end when federal funding drops below 100 percent in three years unless the Legislature voted to continue it.

Gun-Grabbing, anti-second amendment activist who vocally advocated for New York’s SAFE Act was arrested February 6…for carrying a firearm on school premises. Despite the fact that Ferguson, who does in fact possess a permit to carry a gun while seeking to take guns from others, The Empire States draconian gun laws do not permit the carrying on school properties.

Now, the SAFE Act proponent faces felony charges for violating the very law he himself had a hand in creating.

HB1255, up for a vote today in the New Hampshire House, will probably fail.  HB1255 would make students whose name appear on the voter checklist eligible for in-state tuition rates at schools in the university system of New Hampshire.  It will fail because Democrats control that body and require the inequality that HB1255 would correct, remain in place.  What is this inequality?  It is the demand by Democrats that out of state students be allowed to vote as if they live in NH, while still requiring them to pay out of state tuition.

Democrats insist, as Rep. Anne Grassie, D-Rochester, did, that “there is no correlation” between voting and in-state tuition. Then how does she explain that the University of New Hampshire considers voting registration to be an indication of residency for determining a student’s tuition rate?

The cost of doing business has a direct effect on your ability to hire, retain, and reward employees.  The more time and money you must expend interfacing with the bureaucracy, and the army of flying compliance monkeys being waved out the castle window by successive Democrat run governments, the fewer resources you have left over for anything else.  Then there are the taxes and fees Democrats love, which nibble (or perhaps chew) at your success, leaving you less to grow your business with.

You can’t create jobs, or reward employees, or expand a business when your earnings are tied up by legislative mandate or bureaucratic fiat.  But Democrats love to pig pile more cost burdens on New Hampshire businesses every year.  To borrow a phrase from Roger Simon, It’s the Democrats’ war on work.

This is all due to the hard work of Grassroots activists, and we’d like to extend our thanks to them and the legislators who voted to kill this.

And I’d like to give a special thanks to Minnesota based Progress Now’s, Zandra Rice Hawkins.  Her painfully long-winded email, weighted down with tired left wing talking points, sent to everyone in the NH House, probably helped win the day for Second Amendment Supporters.

I have a good reason for following the political journey of Davis.  She was lifted up by the left on to a mountain of aborted babies, and surrounded by adoring progressives who wanted to stand with her based on their perception of her–for lack of a better word–principles.

As the newly appointed demi-goddess of late term abortions, Davis became the superstar of a murder cult.  But now that she is running for statewide office in Texas, her, for lack of a better word—principles—are evolving.

Wendy Davis said Tuesday that she would have supported a ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, if the law adequately deferred to a woman and her doctor.
