A Right-Wing Reaction To Progressive Navel Gazing

burger-fries-cokeI’m not the mainstream right wing media, but I can answer the question…

Jonathan Cohn asked an interesting question at The New Republic this week. Where is the mainstream, right-wing reaction to NFL prospect and SEC defensive player of the year Michael Sam’s announcement that he is gay?

I’m having the same reaction to that as I would to this. “Where is the mainstream, right-wing reaction to NFL prospect and SEC defensive player of the year Michael Sam’s eating a cheeseburger with fries and a soda?”

I. Don’t. Care. He plays football.  That’s his career choice.  His only job is to do his job, and do it to the best of his ability.  If he’s good at it, he’s a team player, he puts the team before himself, does his best to support a cohesiveness that leads to success, he should be compensated accordingly.

If he wants to gay-grandstand, push people’s buttons, go out of his way to make other team members or staff uncomfortable, try to force the league into a situation where he can file lawsuits, get publicity for being gay instead of being a great player who builds up his team and his league, then he’s just some assh**e who just happens to also be gay.

Just do your job.  Why do progressives have to make everything so damn complex?

On a related note…the Gaystapo lawsuit thing is getting a suitable response in Kansas.
