Yesterday Moms Demand Action put out a shocking alert claiming that there have been nearly 100 school shootings since Sandy Hook. They took the information from a Bloomberg funded organization and as usual, ran with it rather than verifying any of the facts. Once again their fairytale facts have been debunked over at Truth About Guns.

The study these women are pushing is claiming suicides, gang shootings and other shootings that happened near schools as “school shootings.” The majority of the shootings had nothing to do with schools nor were the schools in any danger due to these shootings. Of course, facts never get in the way of the outrageous lies pushed by these harpies in order to push more gun control.

H/T to Bob Clegg for posting a link (on Facebook) to an October 28th NH State Supreme Court decision regarding (2013-0690, Appeal of Professional Fire Fighters of Hudson, IAFF Local 3154 ).

Hudson stopped voluntarily providing step increases for fire fighters outside a collective bargaining agreement and the Union took issue.  An arbitrator determined that the Town had to pay, but the town chose to ignore this.  The union cried foul and called in the New Hampshire Public Employee Labor Relations Board (PELRB) who, after reviewing the law and the case, decided in favor of the Town of Hudson.

The case found its way the NH State Supreme Court and they have ruled on the dispute.

The bigger court news (as opposed to my previous post) is today’s decision in every union v. New Hampshire or (2013-0669, Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire & a. v. State of New Hampshire & a.) regarding the desire to ask public employees to pay more of their own retirement benefits.

 On appeal, the State argues, among other things, that the trial court erred by ruling that NHRS members have a contractual right to a fixed contribution rate. We agree.

The legislature changed the contribution rates.  The unions argued that the change was unconstitutional.  There are many layers to the case and the arguments on both sides are worth reading (if that’s how you roll),  but according to these justices contractual rights did not exist and constitutions were not violated.

So, it comes down to this – how is Kelly Ayotte going to vote?  Is she willing to bet her seat to fulfill her campaign promise to NH Voters?

As a wise lady has pontificated:

“What if the NH GOP RINO plan all along was to throw conservatives under the bus at the opening bell, disenfranchise them for the session and try to neutralize their expected opposition to McAyotte in 2016?”

I would add the Liberty & Freedom wing of the Republican Party which includes Libertarians – after all, there has been reporting that NH State Senator Jeannie Forrester was in on the Shawn Jasper betrayal of the NH House Majority Republican caucus.  And there are a number of Republicans that hate ANY Libertarian being in the Party (a huge mistake, in my judgement). Mark my words, only bad things will come of this all the way around.  Voters voted to put that majority into the NH House to stop the Democrats – NOT to have a Democrat appointed Speaker JASSper.

They also voted, nationally, to stop Obama’s Executive Order on Amnesty.

Appropriate: Not only is he being made fun of in meatspace, now the cyberworld is dissing him.  As a Conservative (with libertarian leanings), I am not thrilled with the idea of this turncoat setting the agenda.  As a blogger, however – well, this guy is going to be infinitely fodderable.

Yesterday Reuters announced that State legislators in each of the 50 states have formed the “American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention” (ASLGVP). In other words, anti-2nd Amendment extremists have formed a coalition, most likely paid for with funds from billionaires with armed security (they haven’t release funders yet), have decided to further push gun control legislation across the country.

In a release from the organization, they announced the legislators who attended the meeting. One of the legislators is Robert (Renny) Cushing, Democrat from Hampton. Even though New Hampshire was named the “Safest State in America“, Cushing apparently feels pushing gun control is at the top of his list of importance as the new session takes hold.

This is craziness!  From my time on my hamlet’s Budget Committee, the vast number of funds are set aside for dedicated and targeted purposes – new capital equipment like buildings or purpose driven vehicles (fire engines, DPW loaders and dump trucks) or for Parks & Rec’s special programs.    It defeats the purpose of having a fund in the first place.  In some cases, these funds were not funded by taxing town residents – the monies were given by others for the town to use within covenants.

WARNING to SENATOR KELLY AYOTTE:  Obama is redesigning public ed from Liberal Arts to Workforce development. Marc Tucker tried this during the Clinton years, but Republicans were smart enough to reject it back then.  Tucker laid it out here in his letter to Hillary Clinton:

The Common Core Standards are PART of this agenda. Competency Based Ed is too. (It’s actually the failed Outcome Based Ed) They change the name hoping no one will notice the failed OBE experiment on kids is BACK!!

Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-LA) won the Louisiana US Senate run-off against 3 term US Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA), 54 – 47.  This was not unexpected as she failed to get 50% of her State’s primary election (with Republicans Cassidy and Manes splitting the vote).  The conventional wisdom was that even as she won 48% of the vote in the primary, she was toast in the runoff and thus, even her own party deserted her from the national level.

But it was clear that she would pull out all the stops and do pretty much anything for the win – including that time honored Democrat campaign trick that threatens “vote for me or YOU ALL will lose all your entitlements!”.  Yes, that time honored “pulling of the goodies”.  Doubt me?  She was so desperate that she actually put it in writing in a flier:
