GrokTALK! for the week of 9/5/15

Summer is over!  Kids are back to school!  And here in NH, the countdown is proceeding to where “The Summah People” (H/T: Weekend Pundit) will be heading home and traffic here in Central NH will return to its normal, languid pace.  Hustle-bustle will be gone – but the political pace never slacks off!  This week, we have:

  • Segment 1: Grokster Susan calls in from the Deprete Gun show at Concord’s skating rink and we talked about a number of things include SB116 and the impending override vote on Gov. Maggie “The Red” Hassan’ veto schedule for September 16.
  • Segment 2:   Ralph Benko from Townhall joins us, courtesy of Grokster Kimberly Morin’s trip out to the Jackson Hole economic summit, to talk about economics and The Fed.  Funny, no one has ever mentioned that we Groksters were part of the Bolivian Army (snicker)….
  • Segment 3: ‘Grok friend and now National Campaign Mgr. for Trump 2016 Corey Lewandowski comes on to talk about his rocket ride and takes a few questions from we Groksters.
Segment 4: Max Ledoux from Riccochet.com joins us to yak about Gov. Maggie Hassan and Planned Parenthood and her (and her staff’s) inability to answer a simple question: Has Maggie Hassan watched the Center for Medical Progress’s videos on Planned Parenthood’ harvesting unborn baby organs (done “to order”)?  A simple yes or no that seemingly was caught in PP’s scalpels…

Segment 1:

Segment 2:

“ACLU: Force Catholic Hospitals to Abandon Catholic Faith”

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”

First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances

So, again we have a case where a religious institution is going to be forced by secular humanists to defy their faith because the latter believes THEIR views trumps the former.  Tolerate much? Emphasis mine, reformatted:

The woefully misnamed American Civil Liberties Union is launching a crusade to force Catholic hospitals to act against Catholic moral teachings and the natural law.  This is an un-American attack on religious liberty.  The ACLU’s intentions came to light this week after it threatened to sue Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California, which is operated by the Sisters of Mercy. The hospital is a part of Dignity Health, a nonprofit that operates 40 hospitals — 22 of which are Catholic — in California, Nevada and Arizona.

Blogline of the day – Not exactly full of credibility here

On the news of the Democrat town clerk, Kim Davis, refusing to issue marriage licenses, White House flakker Josh Earnest had this to say: ‘No Public Official Is Above the Rule of Law’ Seriously – he can stand there at the White House podium with a straight face and say that, given how many times … Read more

Free Speech? On college campuses, that’s considered HATE speech

Political Correctness 2Orwellian: freedom from religion is religious freedom.  Owellian: freedom of speech has become freedom OF speech.  Both of our fundamental rights are being redefined to its exact opposite by the Marxist Left a la Political Correctness and “never offend anyone”.

GraniteGrok’s response to that is short and pithy: screw you.  If you can’t withstand criticism, if you believe that you have the right to never have to defend yourself in an argument with someone that holds opposite views and runs rings around you in that debate, go home to Momma and Daddy, go sit in the corner of your basement, curl up in a ball and drool on yourself.  Stay there until you have looked inside your belly button long enough to have figured out that your soul is empty and pitiful and only outdone by the vacuousness of your cranium that is devoid of a singular thought or any kind of logical reasoning.

So You’ll Be asking Them To Take President Obama To Jail Next?

woman-placed-under-arrest-assaultDemocrat county clerk Kim Davis refused to approve marriage licenses for gay couples as a matter of religious conscience. The result? She has been found in contempt of court. By law, she should and has been detained.

Pro-gay-agenda water-carriers and their camp followers have taken to the internet to declare victory…for law and order. Really?  Are you certain that you’d like to set a precedent for enforcing the law over rights of conscience? If true, a lot of people, including the President, are going to jail.

Guess ACLU only approves of certain religions…

Well, it is clear that the ACLU (“woefully misnamed American Civil Liberties Union“) doesn’t like the Catholic hospital that wants to practice its religion with respect to its not wishing to participate in sterilization procedures.  That’s on one hand.  Yet, on the other (emphasis mine, reformatted):

ACLU, CAIR SUE FLORIDA FOR DENYING ISLAMIC MEALS TO MUSLIM PRISONERS

The American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) Florida Chapter and the Council Of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Florida are suing the state of Florida for purportedly denying Halal meals to Muslim convicts locked up in the Miami-Dade Country prison system. The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Local 10 News, a Miami-based ABC affiliate, reported.

Anarchy – it’s not just for the radicals anymore.

LOOK AROUND AT OBAMA AND HILLARY DEFYING THE LAW WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE, and then, even if you read it when it first came out, reread The Coming Middle Class Anarchy. “What’s really important is that law-abiding middle-class citizens are deciding that playing by the rules is nothing but a sucker’s game. . . . When the backbone of a country starts thinking that laws and rules are not worth following, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to anarchy. TV has given us the illusion that anarchy is people rioting in the streets, smashing car windows and looting every store in sight. But there’s also the polite, quiet, far deadlier anarchy of the core citizenry — the upright citizenry — throwing in the towel and deciding it’s just not worth it anymore.”

Nobody likes to feel like a sucker.

I keep writing about The Rule of Law – it IS

Hassan is playing ‘doctor’ again: Treating all NH citizens like drug addicts

hassanYesterday Governor Hassan sent out a press release that calls for more mandates on prescribing physicians when it comes to opioids. ‘Doctor Hassan’ somehow believes that inserting herself in between a doctor and a patient is somehow going to stop drug abuse in the state. To date, none of her initiatives have done anything to curb drug abuse in New Hampshire.

Instead of pledging fealty to the Party…

Methinks (and a lot of others) believe that the Trump phenomena is really starting to flush out the horror, tears, and sackcloth rendering within the Smart People of the Party.  When it all comes down to it, however, it is all about the slipping away of power from the Establishment as they just can’t control The Donald.  They understand the surge that is his followers and understand that it is they that can throw the real monkey-wrench into all their well laid plans (like the plans of President Ford, Dole, McCain, and Romney).  So we have this stupidness rising again:

The Republican National Committee on Wednesday privately reached out to GOP presidential campaigns to ask whether they’d be willing to sign a pledge stating they would not run as an independent candidate in the event they fail to win the Republican nomination in 2016.  “I [name] affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is,” the pledge reads. “I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.”

At least two campaigns reported they received a call from Katie Walsh, RNC chief of staff, asking if they would be willing to sign such a pledge.

This is desperation multiplied but they have only themselves to blame;

Breaking News – Judge Berman Nullifies Brady’s 4-Game Suspension

AP U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell went too far in affirming punishment of the Super Bowl winning quarterback. Brady has insisted he played no role in a conspiracy to deflate footballs below the allowable limit at last season’s AFC championship game. The written decision frees Brady to prepare for … Read more

That’s just so last century morality….

First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances

Now we see the promotion of sexual proclivities, now a form of “social religion” and an overt discrimination of religious belief:

It wasn’t so much a choice as it was a demand.Chaplain David Wells was told he could either sign a state-mandated document promising to never tell inmates that homosexuality is “sinful” or else the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice would revoke his credentials.  “We could not sign that paper,” Chaplain Wells told me in a telephone call from his home in Kentucky. “It broke my heart.”The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice revoked his volunteer credentials as an ordained minister– ending 13 years of ministry to underage inmates at the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

GrokTV: Ted Cruz at Grokster Mike’s – MicroInterview with Dilson

Along with doing a quick interview with Senator Ted Cruz, we also did one with Dilson – the college student that wanted to know where Ted Cruz stood on “free” education like what Socialist Bernie Sanders has promised, what Democrat Hillary Clinton has promised, and now, Republican Jeb Bush has promised the same free ride (and went FURTHER with “colleges to pay them back if they don’t graduate” – yeah, that’s Free Market, huh? – shucking the cost, eventually, onto taxpayers):

After the jump is the short “pre-event” and the intro ceremonies for the event.  And yes, I did everything “backwards” because, well, just because.
