This is an interesting story given the recent events at PhilliSEXeter Academy. USA Today dug deep into the issue of how well states perform background checks on teachers to look for disciplinary issues, including sexual misconduct. They gave New Hampshire an ‘F.’
Why I’m More Right And They Are More Wrong
I spoke about this big picture issue briefly on GrokTALK! Saturday. One of my kids pointed out that they have a teacher who speaks to the ideas of progressivism with the same certainty with which I speak about conservative principles and liberty.
I told him that it is great to hear people who feel so confident with their worldviews, but my way is still better, and here’s why.

How many of us have looked around and said that I don’t recognize our country anymore? Actions, behaviors, and words that would never have been carried out, brazenly done, and dirtily spoken are seemingly the norm nowadays. Things that were “bad” are now glorified, that were done in secret because they were shameful now get top billing in prime time and first page / above the fold billing. Traditional virtues like honesty, truthfulness, keeping promises, obeying the law, one man / one woman marriage, the traditional family, putting others first, simply living simplest of manners, chivalry (both for men AND women), the rejection of that which is bad and wrong, that God is not just dead but to be spit upon, that those of faith are made to be shamed for living a good life for Him – all now are now cause for ridicule (at best) and cause to be attacked to the point of losing their jobs and their homes. I could go on and on but you get my drift. It is the Left that is out to destroy and transform our public morality and values. So where do you fall on the Global Cooling / Global Warming / Climate Change / Extreme Climate spectrum?
Heh! This is a good and pithy shortcuts to know what kind of person you may be debating and categorize where you (or they) stand on the most politically charged (and some it only exists BECAUSE it can be and is hyper-politicized skewed toward Statism):
Alarmists. They pay little attention to the details of the science. They are “unconvincibles.” They say the danger is imminent, so scare tactics are both necessary and appropriate, especially to counter the deniers. They implicitly assume that all global warming and human-caused global warming are identical.
Exaggerators. They know the science but exaggerate for the public good. They feel the public doesn’t find an 0.64°C change threatening, so they have to cherry-pick and distort a little—for a good cause.
Melissa Click, Click, Boom!
The most recent anti-speech wicked witch of the Midwest, Melissa Click, is back in the news. The Mizzou Martyr. She of the ‘bring me some muscle’ fame. The professor was fired for her antics; a termination she now claims is the result of racial politics.
“This is all about racial politics,” she told The Chronicle of Higher Education in an interview published Sunday. “I’m a white lady. I’m an easy target.”
She should try being a white man on a college campus. Go ahead. I’m sure they’ll still let you use the ladies-room. And maybe you’ll ‘see’ a poop-swastika and you can start another protest.

I mentioned how to get the Federal govt out of “Education’s” hair in my post here (“McLaughlin Middle School Principal William Krantz – put up or shut up“)- just stop doing business with them. Seriously, put aside the lure of “free money” (that never is) and settle on just doing the basics. Or, you can do what this guy is (rightly!) doing:

Yet another Educrat makes “a thunder” he can’t back up. C’mon, blowhard, show me that oath! (Reformatted, emphasis mine, entire article after the jump):
Livingston told school board members to meet the tax cap budget number required by the Manchester city charter, more than $2.5 million will have to be removed from her $165.2 million request. Last week during a public hearing on the budget, city resident Patrice Bernard reminded board members of the oath of office they took back in January, “swearing to uphold the City Charter” – and the city’s tax cap. “If your word means nothing, you don’t deserve to be sitting in those seats,” said Bernard. “Keep your word. I expect you to uphold the tax cap.”
Good going girl! Make SURE they’re reminded that they have boundaries – duly voted upon and set by the people that pay their salaries. After all who is supposed to be in charge here? Who are the employers and who are the employees? Well, it seems that Principal Krantz never got the message:

Men Have No Say? Then Why Make Them Pay?

The short-lived Komen for the Cure controversy over funding for Planned Parenthood ignited more than a few debates in the verse, more of them about abortion as it turns out than breast cancer screening. And we (men) were “reminded” of a few things. Not only does funding “women’s health issues” continue to be successfully propagandized as the latest invented constitutional mandate (men don’t have the same mandate if you forgot), but the femi-nazis and their gargoyle familiars have taken the occasion to remind anyone with a penis that they have no say whatsoever in whether or not a woman should, could, can, or will have an abortion. Men have no say. Fathers have no say. Just go away
If this is your policy, that’s fine, but from now on permission to use your vagina should come with some kind of End User License Agreement (EULA) which can be read and signed in advance of any intimate contact. Let’s call it the VULVA– Vaginal Use Liability Verification Agreement
Kelly Ayotte, you VOTED for this stupidity?
I’m really beginning to hate seeing this phrase: “with the help of the following XX Republicans“. It always means that we have Republicans voting against their base and against the platform – and happy about it. It means that the vision we were given by the Founders, a limited Federal government, just went dark by yet a few more photons.
And there’s US Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) right in the middle of them. Do you think that perhaps she’s going to start regretting some of her “bipartisan, reaching across the aisle” votes when the NH Conservative base votes “present” (e.g., takes a pass on that race like we did for Havenstein and Brown) come September and November?
