US Government is finally standing up for the individual religious beliefs…of a Rastafarian.

The Obama administration is spending taxpayer dollars to sue a private business for not allowing a male employee to have long, matted and knotted hair required to practice an “Afrocentric” religion in which followers also smoke marijuana (“the spiritual use of cannabis”). Known as Rastafari, it was born in the slums of Jamaica and followers must have dreadlocks, long clumps of ungroomed hair, symbolizing the mane of the Lion of Judah.

Undoing 50 years of race relations because Obama can’t help himself.

Anytime a non-black man killed an African-American, Obama cried racism and said it could have been him or his son, if he’d had one. Every time a cop, white or black, killed a black American, Obama’s reflexive instinct was to blame the cop. Where “this” would be Medicaid Expansion here in NH (or as Steve points out, a step to “a single-payer system.”).  Here’s what current Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas said at the Windham GOP Gubernatorial Debate (emphasis mine, reformatted):

However, the candidates differed on a few key issues, including whether to continue Medicaid expansion and whether they support abortion rights.

Those differences emerged at the beginning of the debate, when all candidates were asked whether they would sign a pledge from outside group Americans For Prosperity to cut taxes and regulations and oppose the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion. While Forrester and Edelblut said they would have no problem signing the pledge, Gatsas and Sununu were more hesitant, especially when it came to health care issues.

“Hesitant” – sometimes a code word used to describe Republican that KNOW what the right thing to do is (in terms of living up to the Conservative ideals of less taxes and smaller government) and KNOW that if they were completely truthful, they’d lose in a heartbeat (because they DON’T want to do the right thing – they just want to get elected).  So what did Gatsas say? Gubernatorial Candidate Chris Sununu released an economic plan this past week (Skip mentions it here). As part of the scheme, he supports the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act to help make health care more affordable. Great news except there is a problem. Not that long ago he supported ObamaCare’s expanded Medicaid provision.
