USA Today Article Has Ironic Headline

The Manchester paper has several pages inserted daily from USA Today. One of the articles in this morning’s edition is titled “Don’t let platform’s like Amazon own your soul.” My first thought was “Don’t let platforms like the Democrat Party’s own your soul.” This is, after all, USA Today.

Canadian Think Tank Says New Hampshire #1 in Economic Freedom

The Fraser Institute has announced that in 2014, the last year for which data was available, New Hampshire was the most economically free state in the US. It was followed on the list by Florida, Texas, South Dakota and Tennessee. (Watchdog) New Hampshire leads the United States in economic freedom for the second consecutive year, … Read more

A Christmas wish for all of us of the pale persuasion

“The Caucasians among the tender young minds exposed to Professor George Ciccariello-Maher at Drexel University are on notice that their teacher wants them exterminated because of their race. Not exactly a welcoming atmosphere. I wonder if any of them might be “triggered” by this tweet the good professor offered in the spirit of the holiday?” … Read more

A Message From Tweet Command Center… Stay Tuned

Yea, I might be going out on a limb here but my guess is that since hardly one action that is regarded as standard in a presidential campaign holds true for Donald Trump. This brings us to “THE FIRST ONE HUNDRED DAYS!!!” malarkey. My bet is the first one hundred tweets will have more of … Read more

“Silent Night”

“It is the song sung in almost every church on Christmas Eve, usually by candlelight. Usually the last song. Accompanied by a guitar, or sung a cappella. It is probably the world’s favorite Christmas carol. Translated into almost 300 languages. . . it is of course: “Silent Night.” Here is the Vienna Boys’ Choir singing … Read more

The Progressive “You don’t need that” Obama Santa

Like a good Progressive, the Obama Santa utters THE Progressive “tell” of “You don’t need that” and “I know what you need better than you do”.  Thus, the condescending “you need this sweater”: Ramirez gets it absolutely pitch perfect – everyone must be the same. (H/T: Powerline)

The Progressive Legacy Obama Santa

Well, EVERYone, so it seems, are already doing their “Year in Review” programs (TMEW absolutely hates all of them).  Rameriz, as always, gets it right with Obama (a “two term” review).  Like Hillary in her 2008 campaign, Obama believes he has “blessed” us with his magnificent presents: (H/T: Powerline)

A very Marine General James Mattis Christmas

Retired Marine General James “Mad Dog” Mattis (and nominee as Trump’s DoD Secretary) is beloved by his former Marines – this is one anecdote why:

A couple of months ago, when I told General Krulak, the former Commandant of the Marine Corps, now the chair of the Naval Academy Board of Visitors, that we were having General Mattis speak this evening, he said, “Let me tell you a Jim Mattis story.” General Krulak said, when he was Commandant of the Marine Corps, every year, starting about a week before Christmas, he and his wife would bake hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Christmas cookies. They would package them in small bundles.

Oh, about that Michael Turner, owner of Turner LP Gas refusing to sell Trump supporters propane? One word:

Permits.

Yeah, permits.  You see, in order to make a living, one doesn’t have the freedom to just do what one wants for a living.  Nope, one has to get permission from the Nanny State in the form of “permits” to pretty much do anything nowadays.  Land of the Free?  Not so much, but I digress.

Seems that Michael Turner of Turner LP Gas made it known (if you read Steve’s post, you’d know) he was only going to sell to non-Trump supporters.  Problem is, he wasn’t supposed to be selling any propane to anyone.

Permits (emphasis mine):

NH, we’re Scrooged

Yep, that’s our favorite Christmas movie. (H/T: LIKECOOL)

Crossy Road

crossyroadI never used to play games on my smartphone until I discovered Crossy Road. This addictive spin on Frogger is fast, fun, and can fill a few seconds or a few thousand seconds, whatever your need.

But before you tap your way to a free copy of this endless arcade hopper I must warn you. My nickname for this game is dammit!

So, my eyes don’t have to close?

sneezeGlad to know about the little mysteries of life:

Why Do My Eyes Close When I Sneeze?

Is it a foregone conclusion that we can’t help closing our eyes during a sneeze? Not quite, researchers say. It is possible (albeit difficult) to keep our eyes open during a sneeze, said Dr. David Huston, an associate dean at the Texas A&M College of Medicine Houston campus and an allergist at Houston Methodist Hospital. “The fact that it is possible to sneeze with the eyes open suggests that it is not hardwired or mandatory,” Huston said in a statement. It’s not entirely clear why people blink while sneezing, but it likely plays a protective role, he said.

Christmas Palate Cleanser: the making of a glass Christmas ornament

“Season’s Greetings from The Corning Museum of Glass! Watch as Museum Gaffer Eric Goldschmidt creates a blown, mirrored and glittered ornament using an authentic Lauscha ornament mold. For many years, it was holiday tradition to decorate one’s home with fruits and nuts. But when a glassblower in the small German mountain town of Lauscha could … Read more

The Corner’s Link Lady has a satire of a Merry Christmas greeting:

Didn’t they learn from this past election?

“…only 9.9 people a day seeing the movie in any given theater”

miss-sloaneThat the American people, especially those of us in flyover country (or of that outlook if not geographical location), have HAD it with their inferiors preaching to them from heights that they have not attained on all matter of subjects and issues? We’ve just finished eight years of Best-Gun-Salesman-in-Chief making all kinds of disparaging remarks about we bitter clingers and trying all he could with his “pen and phone” to thwart that Second Amendment Right of ours?  Didn’t they see that the Obama’s-Third-Term-Its-My-Turn candidate Hillary, who ALSO wanted to push that meme into double-overdrive?

Apparently not – that “Miss Sloan” movie TV advertising that has been hectoring gun owners for a couple of months has met its match – a loser with the American people.  But really, THIS bad?

YOU CAN’T ASTROTURF THE BOX OFFICE: Hollywood’s Gun-Control Dud. “Miss Sloane, a highly anticipated movie demonizing the NRA and calling for gun control, has bombed. The movie succeeded only in emphasizing the top-down nature of the gun-control campaign and
