As a follow-up to my piece from January, which made awareness of a Library Trustee Candidate’s activism in the Transitioning Children space, otherwise known as legalized child abuse, I am sad to report that said candidate, Beth Labrecque Marrocco, was indeed elected as a Library Trustee for the Leach Library in Londonderry, NH. (Of note, Liz Thomas, who was promoting Beth, was also re-elected and has, in fact, been made chair of the Library Board.)
Since Beth Marrocco’s election, she was pushed as Secretary by Liz Thomas and held that role until recently, when she posted that she is resigning from her duties as Secretary. ….”the secretary role…is quite untenable as a one-person responsibility given the ever-increasing demands of producing the Minutes for multiple meetings per month.” Of note, there were two meetings held in April, two meetings held in May, and two meetings held in June. A third meeting scheduled for June 30th was cancelled, and the announcement was made on the same day. [Related: Why is a Republican Pushing A DEI/Trans-LGBTQ Groomer For Library Trustee?]

My guess is that she is too busy promoting and preparing her newly named child grooming tent for the Londonderry Old Home Days. Renamed because of the pushback to previous years “YOUTH PRIDE” and “LONDONDERRY DEI” tents. The new tent is called “WE ARE LONDONDERRY” and continues to pursue the same DEI, CRT, TRANS indoctrination for the community and especially children.
Beth is quite the trans activist, and as such, she is very supportive of the Leach Library Director, Erin Matlin. Erin is more than happy to highlight TRANS and LGBTQIA books in displays in the children’s library in the Main Library and monthly Book discussion programs. Zero Displays or programs for Independence Day. Last year, the LONDONDERRY DEI tent raised $750.00 and donated it to Leach to purchase DEI books and materials.
The Director, Erin Matlin, and Miss Beth are quite close. The leftist progressives in Town love Erin and will support anything she does. Unfortunately, Erin Matlin’s fiscal responsibility to the town is quite absent. Since her hiring in late 2021, the Leach Library spending under her direct influence has gone from $1,316,140.00 (FY22) to $1,557,657.00 (FY26), an increase of $241,517.00. This is an 18 percent increase. During the same time period, cumulative inflation in the US has been estimated to be between 9.84% to 14.24%.
But this is not the only issue.
She has routinely spent, without Trustee approval, up to 60% over her Books line, even though she increased the Default Budget by approximately $50,000.00 a year by joining the GMILCS consortium in 2024. Her Book budget line has been between $90,000.00 and $100,000.00 over tenure, and she routinely goes $4000.00 to $6000.00 a month above. Again, without Trustee approval. Even with the addition of the GMILCS, which advertises access to over 1.2 million books, she buys and buys. Ironically, the more books that Leach has in circulation, the higher the GMILCS fee. Erin Matlin has also had increased difficulty tracking her donations and cash drawer. She has been stalling on giving contracts to Trustees for review and approval and just approves them herself.
In the spring of 2025, the board of Trustees, with the exception of Beth Marrocco and two other progressives, have been expressing the need to keep better track of the spending, property and donations as specifically required per RSA 202-A:12. The four Trustees who are demanding accountability are now being attacked mercilessly by the Town’s Democrats and Progressives at the urging of Beth Marrocco on her official Trustee Facebook page. Erin Matlin has been fighting against her accountability dramatically. She is petulant and disrespectful to the Trustees when asked to do her job. The progressive group has started a petition to have the four responsible trustees removed by a Town Councilor, even though the Town Council does not have the power by law to remove them. They based the removal on unfounded claims, including “The Chair spoke during Public comment even though she promised not to” and “The Treasurer compensated herself” when referring to a reimbursement for copy fees for a Trustees meeting ($19.00).

What, amongst other requests for responsibility, prompted this? A June 14th Agenda that stated the following:
Items we are still waiting for from the Library Director

Erin Matlin had a temper tantrum and refused to post the Agenda until these items were removed. The items were removed, and the Agenda was posted by the Town Manager’s Administrative Support Coordinator on June 10th at 1:21 pm (as amended). Erin either couldn’t (inefficiency) or wouldn’t (malfeasance) post it.
This brings us to this ( emphasis mine):
RSA 202-A:17 Employees; Removal. – No employee of a public library shall be discharged or removed from office except by the library trustees for malfeasance, misfeasance, or inefficiency in office, or incapacity or unfitness to perform the employee’s duties….
Definitions:
- Malfeasance: This involves intentional wrongdoing or illegal activity. This is serious and may have legal or disciplinary consequences.
- Misfeasance: This refers to performing a lawful act improperly. This is less severe but still problematic.
It is my understanding that the four library Trustees that are being targeted have evidence of at the very least Misfeasance and inefficiency in office (refusal to post Agenda, lack of financial reporting to Trustees, overspending, etc.). Erin is disrespectful to her employers, and she avoids accountability at every opportunity. Hence, the push by progressives to remove the four trustees and save the precious and potentially corrupt Library Director, Erin Matlin. The progressives need Erin to push their DEI agenda at the Leach Library. Erin Matlin needs to go so the Chaos at Leach Library stops.
