In these Israel-related posts I don’t just have memes such, but lots of informative links as well as hopefully-insightful commentary.
Note that this is not meant to be a day-by-day update about what’s going on. Rather, to highlight uncomfortable truths about the actual nature of the conflict, deep-history background, and so on, as well as to show the at-present immutable nature of Islamic hatred of Jews and why that matters to today’s events.

The Palestinians don’t have a state for one simple reason: They have rejected every opportunity to have one because they insist on replacing Israel. Hamas wants to destroy Israel, not live beside it, and Fatah wants to “liberate” Palestine in stages.

Moreover, Palestinians almost universally support Hamas terrorism. Reuters has reported that a poll by the Palestinian Center for Policy Survey and Research found: “Almost three in four Palestinians believe the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israel was correct.” Another poll by the Arab World for Research and Development found: “Ninety-eight percent of Palestinians said the Oct. 7 slaughter made them feel ‘prouder of their identity as Palestinians.’” Those who believe such things may not be guilty of terrorism, but they are definitely not innocent.
Neither are the thousands of Gaza civilians who cheered as kidnapped Israelis were paraded through the streets, many of the women having been obviously raped and brutalized. Nor are the Palestinian civilians who have been exposed as Hamas spies.

This is spot-on correct. We just don’t think alike… and the fact that the West doesn’t grasp this is exceedingly dangerous.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The west needs to stop thinking that its core values are in line with radical Islam.
You see, in the civilized world, we have some core beliefs. For example, if you treat someone with respect and dignity, they will reciprocate.
The thing is, radical Islam does not share that value.
You can treat a radical Islamist with all the dignity in the world but you’re still an infidel and they want you dead, irrelevant of how you treat them.
The west needs to understand that radical Islam’s war is not about land, human rights, or anything else other than a religious ideological war on everything we believe in.
We like to give them fancy names like Hamas, Hezbolloh, Houthis, ISIS, Islamic Jihad, etc.
You can call them whatever you want, it’s all the same garbage. You can march for them day and night, but don’t kid yourself to think that if they have a chance to bring October 7th to a theater near you, that they’d hesitate for a second. They wouldn’t, and if Israel doesn’t defeat Hamas in this war, they won’t! The west is next!
The thing is, it’s not politically correct to say it, but radical Islam is a global plague. This isn’t about Israel. This isn’t about land. This isn’t about a state. This is about dead Jews and the defeat of the west.
Another example, which took me years to internalize, is that, in the west, we have morals. We have ethics. We have red lines that we would never cross. There are some things that are NEVER ok.
That is not the case for radical Islam. It’s time we internalize this. For them, rape is ok. Pedophilia is ok. Mutilating bodies is ok. Burning families is ok. Decapitating babies is ok. They have NO red lines.
The most tragic part of it all is the indoctrination of children who are taught to murder infidels from age zero.
You cannot make peace with an ideology that believes you do not have a right to exist.
It’s really time the west understands that taking their values and applying them to the world of radical Islam is both ridiculous and dangerous.
Just like no moral person thought that making peace with the Nazis was a good idea… Just like everyone understood that Germany had to be denazified, even if it entailed many innocent lives lost, the same is true for societies run by radical
Islam. There is no fixing them. It’s ingrained from before they can talk…It’s time we stopped speaking our language and started speaking theirs.
That is the only way we can effectively battle the plague of radical Islam that is slowly destroying us from the inside.

A CONCLUDING THOUGHT FOR THIS POST
Hamas leader Haniyeh sent terrorists to massacre Israelis — while his niece was receiving medical treatment in Israel.
The Jerusalem Post said the Soviet secret police last year secured the release of three kidnaped Soviet diplomats in Beirut by castrating a relative of a radical Lebanese Shia Muslim leader, sending him the severed organs and then shooting the relative in the head.
The incident began when four Soviet diplomats were kidnaped last September by Muslim extremists who demanded that Moscow pressure the Syrian government to stop pro-Syrian militiamen from shelling rival Muslim positions in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.
The militiamen, the Jerusalem paper said, did not cease their attacks, and the body of one of the Soviet diplomats, Arkady Katkov, was found a few days later in a field in Beirut.
The KGB then apparently kidnaped and killed a relative of an unnamed leader of the Shias’ Hezbollah (Party of God) group, a radical, pro-Iranian group that has been suspected of various terrorist activities against Western targets in Lebanon.
Parts of the man’s body, the paper said, were then sent to the Hezbollah leader with a warning that he would lose other relatives in a similar fashion if the three remaining Soviet diplomats were not immediately released. They were quickly freed.
The newspaper quoted “observers in Jerusalem” as saying: “This is the way the Soviets operate. They do things–they don’t talk. And this is the language Hezbollah understands.”

In fact, I remember another story – don’t have a source – of how a Russian diplomat went to an Iranian diplomat to discuss something the USSR didn’t like, the details escape me. But one of the observations made by the Russian to the Iranian was that a Soviet nuclear missile base was relatively close to a Shiite holy site, and that “missile accidents with inadvertent launches” do happen from time to time.
Message received; the Iranians put a stop to things. So what can we do here?

Last year, Turkey experienced a catastrophic earthquake that took the lives of 59,000 people.
Israel was one of the first countries to sent help – to rescue Turkish families, to provide food, medical care and everything that Turkish people needed.
What did Turkey’s President do in return? One year later, after Hamas invaded & massacred Israeli civilians, when Israel needed its friends to show support – Erdogan called Israel a “terrorist state”, and pushed for the International Criminal Court to trial Israel.
Dictator Erdogan spits in the face of a country that throughout history was always there for Turkey. One day, Israel and Turkey will be true friends – when Dictator Erdogan will be out of the picture.

So the next time there is a tsunami in Indonesia, or an earthquake in Pakistan, Turkey, or Syria, the Israelis should not immediately dispatch humanitarian aid and search-and-rescue teams. Instead, both the government, and Jewish aid agencies, should sit tight. Let the world realize that Israel is no longer going to be a source of succor for its enemies, who have so often pocketed its aid and then continued to denounce the Jewish state until the welkin rings with anti-Israel hate. Just this once, Israel, behave the way all other countries behave. Stop thinking you have to be so very tikkun-olamish and in all things a light unto the nations, including by helping your worst enemies. No, you don’t.
So this brings to mind two sayings I’ve seen on the internet:
Pleasing your enemies does not turn them into friends.
And from Rome (I’m not admiring the guy who said it, just observing the truth in what he said):
Let them hate me, so long as they fear me.
