This is an attempt to “break out” memes, links, and my commentary about the situation in Israel / the Middle East so as to not overload the standard meme posts that I do. My last “normal” meme post. In these Israel-related posts I don’t just have memes such, but lots of informative links as well as hopefully-insightful commentary.
Note that this is not meant to be a day-by-day update about what’s going on. Rather, to highlight uncomfortable truths about the actual nature of the conflict, deep-history background, and so on, as well as to show the at-present immutable nature of Islamic Jew hate and why that matters to today’s events.

What is the “Status Quo” on the Temple Mount? (bolding in the original; underlining in the second paragraph added):
The Temple Mount is Judaism’s holiest site. It is the biblical Mount Moriah where Abraham was to sacrifice his son Isaac. It is the site at which King Solomon built the first Jewish Temple, destroyed in 586 BCE. It is the site at which the Jews, 70 years later, built the second Temple. As a pamphlet for tourists published in 1924 by the Supreme Muslim Council openly declares: “This site is one of the oldest in the world. Its sanctity dates from the earliest (perhaps from pre-historic) times. Its identity with the site of Solomon’s Temple is beyond dispute.”

In the 1990’s the Waqf excavated the area known as “Solomon’s Stables”, turning it into a new mosque referred to as the El-Marwani Mosque. It is located 12 meters below the current courtyard, and the Supreme Muslim Council pamphlet notes that the area of the Stables “dates probably as far back as the construction of Solomon’s Temple. According to Josephus, it was in existence and was used as a place of refuge by the Jews at the time of the conquest of Jerusalem by Titus in the year 70 A.D.” It was Titus who destroyed the second temple.

Israel needs to win this war, and the West should realize that victory will help weaken the Islamist push to take over the world. Israel needs to fight aggressively and mercilessly and avoid the mistakes of the past that have cost so dearly in lives lost. The US should not pressure Israel to make those mistakes again.

Those civilians hate the Jews so much that they produce children specifically to blow themselves up to kill Jewish children.
We should have no qualms about “innocent” Palestinian women and children dancing in the streets celebrating killing the Jews being collateral damage in the eradication of Hamas. The law of superior force shall prevail, and the threat from Hamas eliminated once and for all.

ATROCITIES
One of the new horrors during Hamas’ terror is that terrorists were using rape as a weapon of war.
Multiple testimonies have been documented of the terrorists mutilating and raping women before – or even after – they were murdered.
One witness told CNN, “She was alive, she stood on her feet and she was bleeding from her back. I saw that he was pulling her hair. She had long brown hair. I saw him chop off her breast and then he was throwing it toward the road, tossed it to someone else and they started playing with it. I remember seeing another person raping her.”
During the rape, the terrorist shot the victim in the head, the witness said.
Multiple videos show women with their hands zip-tied while being assaulted.
The report said Shari, a volunteer military morgue worker, confirmed the violence.
“We saw many women with bloody underwear, with broken bones, broken legs, broken pelvises,” she told The Washington Post.
