We’ve been pointing out some of the worst RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) that decided to run in Tuesday’s primaries across the State. Thanks to Spec for compiling these records where “RINO” is defined as a vote by a given NH State Rep that ran contrary to the majority of Republicans on a given bill.
Here’s what Spec said about his methodology (emphasis mine):
First, let me say that the current Republican caucus is as conservative and liberty-minded as any in recent memory. Almost every Republican Rep has a good voting record. Some are better, some worse, but most are good. A few are very good, and a few are very bad. Almost all Republicans can be proud of their records.
The goal of the RINO Report is to objectively identify the RINOs – the few Reps with very bad records. In the process, it also identified those with very good records. We have a very simple measure of goodness: Does a Rep’s vote agree with the majority of Republicans or with the majority of Democrats?
The Republican majority is almost always right, but there are occasional votes where a principled Republican will disagree. Almost every Rep will at one time or another, vote against the majority (and hence with the Democrats).
During the last three terms, the median Republican voted 17.3 times each term against the party majority. The worst, i.e. the RINOs, voted more than 50 times against the party. The best voted wrong just six times
Spec sent me the below list (because I asked if he was going to do a post on the RINOs that voters finally figured out that RINOs exist – and were ready to do something about them) with this caveat:

There will be a more official “RINO” report in a while, but this is a good start.
