Louisiana is the18th State to Save Women’s Sports – Bans Biological Men in Girls and Women’s Competition.

Men have an inherent biological advantage when it comes to athletics. Given equal time and training, most women can’t compete. Those who think Title IX empowers girls and women through sport believe that letting men compete as women undermine that. And now, 18 states agree with us.

SB 44 or “Fairness in 16 Women’s Sports Act,” … requires all participants of women’s sports to be “biologically female” and gives them the ability to sue in case of violations, has passed the Senate by a vote of 32-6-0 and moves to the desk of John Bel Edwards last May 25.

The Democrat Governor allowed the bill to become law without his signature, saying, “It was obvious to me after two years it was going to become law whether or not I signed or vetoed the bill.”

So, are Democrats coming around on the issue? If they can help it, sure. It’s not popular with most Americans, it doesn’t make much sense, and it’s not fair. John Bel Edwards probably took a knee because he knew he couldn’t stop it, and the momentum was not in his favor. But that’s not breaking the seventh seal or a sign from the ideological heavens. It’s just politics.

The far left has a stranglehold on the Democrat party the way Islamofascists control those “moderate Muslims” about which we hear so much. They exist but are ineffective and might as well be unicorns or peaceful Democrat protests.

What I did find interesting, and I’m not sure if this was passed in any of the other 17 states, is what I’ll call the accountability clause.

Back in 2019, Selina Soule lost a shot at a scholarship when two boys competing as girls placed higher than biological girls in the same competition. They didn’t have any legislative support, and in Connecticut, where she lived, there was little enough moral support. She had to file a federal lawsuit without a net.

The Louisiana law includes a provision that allows girls and their parents or guardians to sue schools that ignore the law, and we know why that was needed. Schools will ignore the law.

I’m not sure how you hide something like this, but I would not be surprised to see them try. There is, of course, one sure-fire way to learn the truth, not that I envy anyone who ends up with that job.

But good on Louisiana for moving this forward and making a veto untenable.
