Follow-Up – Yes, Sununu Greeted Trump in New Hampshire at Least Once …

A few days ago, I asked if part-time Republican governor Sununu had ever made an effort to greet President Trump when he came to New Hampshire. A sincere question to which I received an answer. Yes.

Mr. Sununu greeted Trump when he came to talk about the opioid problem. It was early in his Presidency after New Hampshire had been hit hard for years by illegal alien gangs and the drugs flowing in (thanks to Obama and Biden’s porous borders policy).

I’d forgotten that visit, and we wrote stories before and after the visit, so thanks for the reminder.

“Every day, sanctuary cities release illegal immigrants, drug dealers, traffickers, gang members, into our cities,” Trump said. “They’re protected by these cities, and you say, ‘What are they doing?’ They’re safe havens for just some terrible people, and they’re making it very dangerous for our law enforcement officers.

Sununu had fingered the city of Lawrence previously as a hub for illegal drugs moving up into New Hampshire and the chaos, addiction, and death that resulted. The Feds executed a major bust with 36 arrested and that made news.

All well and good. And Sununu did meet Trump during the visit for the speech about the opioid “epidemic.” But Sununu didn’t do much if anything else to help Trump with that problem.

He refused to send National Guard troops to the border if asked (you could have offered!), which is where the drugs were crossing before making their way to Lawrence and networks of illegal alien gangs like MS-13.

He didn’t support Trump much after that in any respect and has since had less than kind words for him (it wasn’t a joke, admit it). The only guy – the only thing that slowed the source of the problem was Trump.

Biden undid all that, and the problem is back and worse than before.

I’m not sure what you said to Biden when he arrived, but I doubt it was, “Mr. President, your border policy is killing New Hampshire kids.” Biden likes “kids” so that would have made him sad.

You may have asked if you a check. We know how you love that Federal money and the strings that come with it. And I’m sure that would make Biden smile but so does ice cream and I’m not sure he knows the difference.
