We were part of the Baby Boom generation and are now in our 70s and 80s. We are strangers in a strange land, recalling Robert Heinlein’s book by the same name, which gets stranger by the day.
We believed in the American dream. We worked hard, paid our taxes and obeyed the law.
Most of us don’t recognize ‘Blue Collar’ Joe Biden’s election, nor his new order in America, a place which has befallen us like an ‘Outer Limits’ episode, or one from ‘The Twilight Zone’.
Patriotism has become passé and is frowned on. Our military is led by men who practice social engineering and tend to be politically correct hacks rather than warriors in the mold of U.S. Grant, Patton or Schwarzkopf. No one understands that tough guys like MacArthur saved lives.

Today’s armchair generals choose not to fight, but they’re superb at motivating soldiers and sailors to use preferred pronouns, in combating imaginary racism in the ranks, and blaming whites for all that ails us.
Giant tech corporations have replaced individual enterprise, which – in many cases – has been taxed and regulated out of existence by folks like Nancy Pelosi, who called the 2021 Small Business Relief package, “a stunt which would never pass the House.”
We cast our eyes in vain for a Ronald Reagan or a Teddy Roosevelt. Instead, we find imbeciles like Ms. Ocasio-Cortez (a poorly educated actress selling socialist snake oil), our own Sen. Maggie Hassan, who has yet to open the DC office due to Covid and a repeat of 1/6 fears, and our current president – a failing septuagenarian slipping into senility on international TV, to our chagrin and to the horselaughs of foreign commentators and dictators alike.
If we’re white, we’re told that we are responsible for every problem that plagues everyone. That’s right, we’re to blame for the shortcomings and retention problems in STEM programs to the cops who are totally at fault for the unfortunate deaths of thugs who try to kill them.
We’re told the savages who burn down cities don’t exist or, if they are admitted thus in the far left print and electronic media, are celebrated as warriors for social justice. But we poor misguided middle-class citizens, some of whom trespassed in the Capitol 14 months ago, are branded traitors and insurgents and now their federal representatives and US senators are to be barred from running this November under the post-Civil War’s Article 14, according to civil suits recently filed by Democrats.
If you’re white, you’re told to remember that, throughout the course of human history, racism has never existed anywhere but here. According to the NY Times’ fictitious ‘1619 Project’ and other scurrilous hogwash, our US Constitution was designed to perpetuate slavery.
We’re also responsible for climate change, despite glaring facts that the Earth was far warmer during the days of our now lovable dinosaurs. And, if we stretch it a bit, the numerous Ice Ages on record show that it has also been far colder than today. And a single volcanic eruption spews out more CO2 than mankind does over the years.
Today, we’re told that there are innumerable “sexual minorities” — that people who used to be considered odd are in fact oppressed and the victims of what is called the terror of ‘micro-aggressions’, which can be easily defined as stares, coughs, eye rolls, and crowding in line. A man who thinks he’s a woman is in fact a woman – and is entitled to use the ladies’ room with our granddaughters and swim on the women’s swimming team. And if we refuse to accept this bizarre fantasy, we are hateful Neanderthals. If Neanderthals were alive, the woke among them, too, would be aghast at our behavior.
Whining about paying confiscatory taxes marks us as kulaks. Inflation is at an almost 40-year high, and Joe Biden tells us that the staggering amount of $6 trillion paid for ‘stuff’ just isn’t enough to lower prices and halt inflation – he needs more. Meanwhile, we learn that 40% of the dollars in circulation have been printed under ‘Working Class’ Joe Biden, the friend of the common man.
Those of us lucky enough to remain working provide benefits for illegal aliens, addicts, those who abhor honest labor, and misguided folk who defecate on the streets and live in hobo camps, where third-world diseases now run rampant and where Democrat city governments fail to clean them and their mess up.
We witness with unalloyed horror the gigantic tsunami of illegal immigrants flowing across our southern border unimpeded. We tend to view them as criminals, gang members, human traffickers, and leeches on society, while the Democrat Party sees them as unregistered voters from unrecognized states as far south as the Straits of Magellan. Our preferred use of state-issued ID cards and driver’s licenses to vote are a gross impediment to the mainstreaming of this illicit flood. We are refused the ability to defend our own borders, our Border Patrol has been eviscerated, and ‘Soylent’ Joe Biden is now calling for volunteers.
Joe Biden splutters about Putin’s war on Ukraine, but the ‘Big Guy’, as Hunter Biden terms his old man on his infamous laptop, imports 550,000 barrels of Russian oil a day and pays Vlad Putin $74 million for the same period. In 2021, ‘Poor Old’ Joe imported 245 million barrels of oil from Putin.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jill’s husband lets pipelines rust and refuses to utilize our own oil, coal, and natural gas, which remain in the ground. Biden recently pleaded with the Saudis to pump more for us and was roundly rebuffed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for these feeble back-channel efforts on our behalf.
Now, Uncle Joe is thinking about imports from the murderous Marxists of Venezuela and the dreadful Jihadis of Iran; both Russian allies and our enemies, oh, at least some half-hour ago. But use our much cleaner resources? Nah, not on your life.
So we, kulaks and serfs, drag ourselves into decrepitude, too stubborn to just give up and die, becoming more like the Joad’s, from John Steinbeck’s ‘The Grapes of Wrath,’ in Biden’s world, every day.
