I got beat to the story about Zandra Rice-Hawkin’s Granite State Progress endorsement of RINO Brodie Deshaies (Wolfeboro – anything to get a vote) for School Board tomorrow:
Make no mistake – this is no handprinted electioneering letter. There are a bunch of them on the Granite State Progress.
Sidenote: “Progress” is a euphemism for Socialism. Zanda Rice-Hawkins’ group was started by a bunch of billionaires that want to do to New Hampshire what they did to Colorado: wipe out Conservatives and Libertarians electorally and turn NH deeply blue.
If you are a Republican, and Zandra or Granite State Progress (whose mission is “Building a Progressive future together”) is endorsing you, you are doing something very wrong.
And yes, Brodie Deshaies is doing something very wrong. In fact, a whole BUNCH wrong. How do I know?
After doing GraniteGrok for 16 years, you meet a lot of people. Along the way, there are folks about whom I can say “I gotta guy…”. So I reached out to my guy for quantitative data:

What is Brodie Deshaies’ HRA score? I have grave concerns if Granite State Progress / Zandra Rice-Hawkins is endorsing him.
And is he “trusted” by the NHLA?
…as I have emailed Deshaies on several occasions asking about why his votes were what they were and his legislation. The HRA is the [NH] House Republican Alliance:
The New Hampshire House Republican Alliance (HRA) is a group of Republican members of the House of Representatives with a very simple and straightforward goal. We want all bills passing the New Hampshire Legislature to be consistent with the New Hampshire and US Constitutions, to embody the traditional Republican values specified in the NH State Party Platform, and to be fiscally responsible to the people of our great state.
And the HLA is the NH Liberty Alliance which:
The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, founded in Nov. 2003, is a non-partisan coalition working to increase individual freedom in New Hampshire. We do this by monitoring bills in the legislative sessions and encouraging private charity, a civil society, and citizen involvement.
…The NHLA reviews liberty-sensitive bills in each legislative session. Bills are evaluated based on their effects on civil liberties, personal responsibility, property rights, accountability, constitutionality, affordability, regulation, fiscal impact, and taxation. From this evaluation process we publish a weekly handout called The Gold Standard. We distribute it to members of the House of Representatives and Senate prior to their vote in order to give them an understanding about whether a given bill is pro- or anti-liberty.
And got this back:
“RINO, n. – a squishy sort of Republican who falls well short of Reagan’s 80% rule. See Brodie Deshaies.”
HRA score: 57.4%
NHLA: C (58%)
I’m sorry – I’m Old School (just ask my students). You get below a 60%, that’s an “F”. That should be grounds for a vote of “no confidence”. I’ve seen DEMOCRATS with far better scores than Brodie Deshaies. I will give him this – he’s slick. Says all the right words at all the right times. But a vote?
Votes are the ultimate speech for a legislature and SHOULD be used to hold them accountable. And accountability in this case should lead to him being bounced. Not just from the Wolfeboro School Board but from the NH House as well. If you are flunking supporting the conservative planks of the NH Republican Party.
If you won’t support the NH / US Constitutions as a legislator – WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!
Folks in Wolfboro – if this guy is approved by Zandra Rice-Hawkins, who hates almost all Republicans (Especially me! Just ask her!), he does not have your best interest at heart – nor your kids. The fact that he boasted about mask-wearing if it got him votes?
What else would he be willing to do to get votes? Especially those that you’ll never find out about?
Vote for Jessica Williams tomorrow – I humbly ask for that vote for her.
