Joe Biden predicts Joe Biden. Yes, in 1997, Joe, the Senator, is speaking at the Atlantic Council about how offering NATO membership to the Balkan states would probably piss Russia off something fierce.

One commenter under the source post for this video wrote,

And in 1998 it was the top democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden who pushed for this conflict by voting in favor of the inclusion of Poland, Hungary and Czech republic. And how did Joe Biden justify this vote?

“This is the beginning of another 50 years of peace”

So, Senator Joe Biden said one thing in 1997 and then did what he said might piss off Russia in 1998 and declared that it would result in peace. Well, it did, but for about 20 years.

And what did Obama’s Point man in Ukraine do with the latter bit of that peacetime besides commit fraud and extortion to enrich his family?

Did he push to get Ukraine to join NATO? Someone did, but then we also have a conundrum. Joe has been about as bad at foreign policy as anyone, ever. A trait he has today.

So was 1997 a stopped clock thing because this guy either sucks at this, or he’s been pretending for decades, and I don’t think it’s the latter.
