It’s Voting Day Here in NH (For Most SB2 Towns, Anyways). GO VOTE!

And just to draw the ire of those on the Left who constantly have the words “misinformation!” or “disinformation!” on the tip of their tongues – don’t worry, it’s next week (smirk).

Heavy turnout!

Just returned from voting and, of course, and much to the dismay of TMEW, I stopped to yak with the Conservatarian candidates outside of the polling place. Not a great day to linger – temps just above freezing and a really stiff wind blowing.

Sidenote: I ran into two old friends (literally and figuratively) that had gone out for a walk and decided to come in and vote. I remarked that, as one had on a knit hat and the other hatless, that this was the kind of weather that will put the red into your ears – the hatless one grimaced and said “yeah, I know”.

I was also surprised, upon driving up, that the parking lot was all but full.  Generally, this happens only for Prez primaries and general elections do I see that.  Inside the poll, was a long line, of people waiting to put their ballots into the AccuVote machine. About 75% of the voting booths were filled.  At 9 am?

This generally doesn’t happen in an off-year election. My worry here in town – that the School Board race got politicized and the “Schoolies” upped their normal steam pressure for GOTV (Get Out The Vote). Masks wearing is still a thing here in town and I think that the politicization of that (The Left turns EVERYTHING political and demands fealty to their Narrative) along with the current national current of Critical Race Theory and the politics of THAT hasn’t helped.

True, too – the Teacher Unions are going full steam on this as well. It is clear that they believe that schools are THEIR domains and any of us Parents that DARE to challenge that status quo truly are Domestic Terrorist.

So, always, which will hold sway?  I just wish, however, that we’d get rid of the “genteelness” and naive  that local elections are supposed “non-partisan”.  Like it or not, they are and that should be recognized.  Time to get rid of that silly notion.

I’ll call down for reports and will be heading back for final results tonite after a meeting.
