Server Migration – Well, It Seems That We Made It Through – Mostly!

Mostly.  It doesn’t appear that we’ve lost any posts (Steve and I saved content from the last couple of days just in case). The Home page comes up well, and we can get into the “back end” of the ‘Grok to create more stuff for your edification and amusement.

So, thanks to our hosting company for that!

However, if you folks have been sending emails to “@GraniteGrok.com (like Skip@, Steve@), you’ve probably seen that you got a bounceback.  That is because our email server was late in being moved over as well (“Oh yeah!  Gotta do that too!). It was briefly up for a while last night but I noticed that it was down this morning.

Given that it WAS up, I’m hoping it will be a quick fix once they come in later on this morning. In the mean time, I’m “rid of a distraction” for a bit and can concentrate on some needful things. Don’t get me wrong – I want to hear from folks but in getting 500-700 emails / day, sometimes it is a luxury to have that firehouse shut off for a bit.

However, the Piper has to be paid later and I know that what can be avoided in the present will bit me in the future. Example: how many people dread going on vacation simply because you know how much work is going to be stacked up when you return?

“There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch” as Robert Heinlein made famous. But I’m glad the blogsite is up and I can scratch something off my task list!

Many thanks to you all for being patient for most of the afternoon until early evening.  Here’s to hoping that the wait was worth it!
