HAMPTON, NH – Today, Karoline Leavitt released the following statement following three situations that unfolded this week in New Hampshire’s school system:
“This week alone, it was revealed that college students at the University of New Hampshire were asked to accuse their fellow students of being ‘ableist, racist, or homophobic,’ middle school students in Derry are being sent to detention to learn ‘compliance‘ if they are not properly wearing masks, and the teachers union at my alma mater, Timberlane Regional School District, blasted concerned parents as causing ‘interference‘ in their child’s education.
Let me be very clear – students should not be asked to accuse one another of racism, children should not be forced to wear masks, and a parents’ involvement in their child’s education is NOT interference, it is their right. Unfortunately, our teachers unions and educators have forgotten they work on behalf of the taxpayers and our curriculum is failing our students. A good education is the foundation for a successful life, and I will fight day and night to ensure New Hampshire’s students receive one. When I am elected to Congress, I will be a vocal advocate for school choice, academic excellence, state and local control, parental rights, and ultimately, the abolishment of the Department of Education. The power belongs to the parents and the students, not the unions and the system.”
