When Corona or Rona became synonymous with SARS CoV2, I wanted very much to retool the lyrics to The Knack’s “My Sharona” to My Corona. I didn’t (I was lazy), but I’ve got a second chance.
Isreal has just christened something new to fear.
Flurona, “a simultaneous coronavirus and influenza virus infection, Yediot reported on Thursday.”
The double infection was first identified in a woman this week at Rabin Medical Center (Ichilov) in Petach Tikva. According to the hospital, the new mother, who is not vaccinated against either pathogen, is feeling well and is expected to be discharged from the hospital later Thursday.
You see what they did there. Not vaccinated, as if that ever stopped the flu or the Rona.
The Health Ministry is still examining the case, which was relatively mild, and has yet to determine whether a combination of the two viruses causes more severe illness.
I’m sure someone will decide it does to advance the agenda. Sell a few million more tests or boosters or whatever. It’s all a laundromat at this point.
