I got a tip from a Loyal Reader concerning a State level response from the Canadian Trucker Protest that was going to Ottawa and then to Washington over Vax mandates centered on truck drivers:
As you may or may not remember, I work for a certain NH state agency. Just came out of a meeting where some were discussing whether or not NH has the political capital to stop any trucker protests.
They said MA, VT, and NY states were all planning on or coordinating to stop any trucker protests in support of the Canadian one or protesting truckers traveling through those states. They (mostly all hardcore Democrats) wanted to do so, but said we “got lucky” because if those states stopped the truckers, they wouldn’t be coming through to NH anyway.

And of COURSE, we protect our Sources. That’s first!
And look at how that State Agency perceives what The Proper Role of Government is supposed to be (er, EVERYTHING under the Sun?)?
Is it supposed to go outside its lane (like right now, removing all that Global Warming Precipitation In Winter from our NH Highways and fix the guard rails after the mayhem is over) and even THINK of instituting “Government Speech” to cancel the Freedom of Speech of Citizens (or legal visitors)? That a group of mere bureaucrats can decide, unilaterally, that a dinky State level agency can manipulate National policy?
So, Trucker protests being sabotaged by Northeastern State DOTs? Aren’t those decisions supposed to be decided by those whose jobs ARE Political (e.g., Governors, Legislators) and not those hidden in the Executive Branch? When such people decide that EVERYTHING ELSE is ALSO their area of expertise and area of responsibility, can we call them Government Vigilantes?
After all, these Democrats (e.g., “The Party of Government”) oft look down their noses at those civilians who actively watch for lawbreakers and derisively call those folks ‘vigilantes” but haven’t the self-awareness to realize that actions like the above are even WORSE?
Worse, you say? Ayup – because they can marshal the full Force of Government against those that aren’t breaking The Law but are breaking those bureaucrat’s over-inflated egos and self-righteous Superior Morality of an ideological outlook towards those “not like us”. Emphasis on the US. The Left – which brooks little to no dissent during their Long March (like what the Communist Chinese did) through traditional American institutions.
Our Founders saw that a LIMITED Government was the way to protect and guard our Individual Liberties. By imposing checks and balances, this kind of thing should be IMPOSSIBLE see happen, but here we are. The Left, bit by bit, has made EVERYTHING political. The corollary is that then EVERYONE MUST also become political, like it or not. Sure, folks like those here at GraniteGrok, voluntarily assume that mantle. Others get dragged into this morass by no fault of their own. The rest will also, over time and in the words of my friend Erick Erickson, Will Be Made To Care.
No one will be left alone by the Left. No one.
