It was clear that current NH State Senator Chuck Morse, come hell or WMUR-hyped-Snowpocalypse (that was not), was going to formally announce his candidacy for the US Senate.
He joins The General (Don Bolduc) and Kevin Smith.
Sidenote: Morse and Smith are similar in that both of them have websites devoid of any substantial info other than the constant ask for money. Chuck’s has been updated (but only “just”) while Kevin’s still hasn’t been touched (that’s two dings, Kevin).
Look, I understand that a Bobcat is a normal piece of equipment for either landscaping or a farming company – it’s what is needed for a lot of smaller jobs. But when I saw Chuck Morse getting out of that Bobcat what immediately came to mind was Mike Dukakis (pictured above).
At the time Dukakis ply was about as preposterous a campaign image as it could get at the time.
This is a guy that got wiped out and not just because he looked rather jerky standing in the tank with a helmet that was almost as big as he was. This was about as lame as it gets in trying to rehabilitate his pacifist philosophy that had him state that he wouldn’t seek the death penalty if a guy first raped and then killed his wife.
Riding in that tank, thinking that all that was needed was a change in “messaging” but that the underlying message itself was fine (a hallmark of Democrats – their message is GREAT just not the delivery and never wanting to admit it IS that their message sucks), was an absolute disaster for him.
NO ONE BELIEVED HIM that he could be “the militant guy that could defend our nation” when he wouldn’t defend his wife (or her memory).
For me, similar to Chuck Morse. Sure, he is an old-style Republican where taxes are about the only thing that matters.
Times have changed but he refused to engage in the Culture War that has engulfed Conservatives for decades now – a Pacifist in this regard. What will he fight for? Can he update himself as he has a long history of being just one thing?
That’s the question but looking back in time, I remain to be convinced. Or, as Crowder keeps saying “Change my mind.”
