Here’s a big bowl of stupid for you on this lovely if not a bit too (freaking bitter) cold Thursday morning. As you probably know, Nashua reinstituted a cite-wide mask mandate (some reporting on that here). But Merrimack didn’t. So, what’s up with this?
I just left the MERRIMACK YMCA where they are enforcing the NASHUA mask mandate effective today.
Their claim is that they are “the Merrimack branch” of the Nashua YMCA as if that somehow makes them not physically located in Merrimack.
Y?
Merrimack doesn’t have a mask mandate. I don’t think it ever has. Merrimack proprietors were subject to misrule under Governor Sununu’s statewide mandate last year, but there’s no such beast even in the works.
The physical location of the Merrimack YMCA makes it impossible for the sinister oligarchs on Nashua’s Aldermanic (OMG, how sexist, that has the word ‘MAN’ in it) Council to enforce its mandate.
It’s in Merrimack, so what gives?
As noted in the email, ‘cuz reasons.
That means they want one, got one, have one, and the YMCA is free to offend current or potential patrons. at will.
And ‘Y’ not?
Well, if you want a mask mandate, at least have the “stones” just to implement one. Don’t claim you have to because you are affiliated with an organization trapped on the other side of the COVID equivalent of the Berlin wall.
But you should change your name to YKMA.
