DISQUS Doodlings – The Eco-Socialist Mask Drops Even More: “a fair consumption space,” Part 1

by

Insidious. First, it was control by Healthcare. Now it is controlling your lifestyles, you First Worlders (from whom all Badness flows).

Yep, Redistribution by other means.  The Paris Accords distributes by “Emissions Equity”. Now we are hearing about “Vaccine Equity”. “Progressive Michael Kitch, formerly of the Laconia Daily Sun, DEMANDED that I, as a BudComm member, raise my town’s taxes to send that money to “people that are hurting” (here and here):

I lost all respect, years ago, for Laconia Daily Sun Reporter Michael Kitch when we had a blowout argument that my town was made up of residents and elected officials that were cheapskates.  Certainly, he knew that I truly believed that when I was on the Budget Committee in my hamlet, I tried mightily to act in the vein that “this is not my money” – and spent a lot of time trying to convince others of the same.  If anything, I tried to be more frugal with other peoples’ money, their property tax monies, than I am with my own.  After all, it IS mine – I earned it and I should be able to spend it the way I want to.

Kitch believes otherwise – he could not understand (or stand) the idea that I (and my town, and other political entities) refused to raise the taxes on our residents simply to send that money to towns and cities that were broke.

Broke not because the single industry in town just up and left (and to which I would have some empathy) but because of years and decades of Progressive / Liberal / Democrat rule – the largest example now being Detroit.  As I have written here before, we had a screaming match over the fact that I refused to send money to the leaders of those towns, who have already proved that they are incapable of wisely spending their taxpayers monies.  WHY would I want to send them more and “enable” their bad habits?  His response was that ‘we are all in this together, that there were people still hurting in those cities, that the intent to help was paramount, and it was irrelevant that the political and appointed leaders would just waste that extra money.

Right…

I want to give MY hard earned money to people who will just set a match to it via paying off political favors, paying up the huge public unions, kept the hamster treadmill of corruption spinning at supersonic speeds, and to hold blameless these chuckleheads who should be held severely accountable .  Instead, in this time of “demanding Justice for Tryvon”, where is the outrage against the Detroit “Leadership” (many who have ending up in jail at a rate similar to that of former Massachusetts Speakers of the House)?

But Kitch believes that I, and folks that believe like me,  am the bad guy ’cause I refuse to put my hand in my pocket, pull out the green, and blithely send it away simply because I live in what he believes to be “a rich town”.

Yeah, Socialists want to enable bad behavior but then absolve them of guilt because “the System”. Just like we are seeing these mass “Smash & Grabs” popping up all over the nation as Progressives continue to “defund the Police”. Normal people suffer as Soros bought and paid for local District Attorneys create revolving doors in which police bring in the malcontents and the D.A.’s simply release them. Yeah, those Urban Democrat areas are the ones I’m supposed to send my money to, Mike?  Enabling BAD Governance?  But I digress.

As TreeHugger Lloyd puts it, always “Eat the Rich”. Or the perceived Rich.

Well, that turned out to be a rehash of older history (2012) revisited but the idea remains the same – forcibly take from those that have succeeded in life simply because “FAIRNESS”. And now the latest idea is this to accomplish the same thing but by yet another name over at Treehugger:

It’s still a hot potato. The report will also raise eyebrows because it introduces the concept of “a fair consumption space,” with a more equitable distribution of the limited carbon budgets: People in poor countries get more, and people in rich countries have to face serious cuts in per capita emissions.

Without going through all of their “logic”, and the charts, and their basic premise that Humans can reset Climate (or at least stop its changing), it comes down to this:

Individuals will be allowed only 2.5 tons of carbon emissions/year. Canadians (and most likely Americans as well), will be chopped from their current 14.2 tons/year.

So, like your lifestyle? Pretty soon, if these Totalitarians in the Name of Gaia, have their way, we’ll all be Third World Countries. Hope you like your dung fueled fires…

This Treehugger post is just so out there in being so smug that they can just take control of entire countries to get their goals accomplished. It really is rather laughable, but they are completely serious about it:

“Lifestyles impacts of climate change are accelerated by cultural norms that encourage consumerism, are driven by advertising, exacerbated by planned obsolescence, and are proliferating in a growth-driven macro- economic context that depends on ever increasing private and public consumption. Some of the products flooding the market and contributing to climate change, arguably, neither have a function nor contribute to the wellbeing of consumers, their existence predicated on fulfilling a profit motive.”

They hate you and how you live – and they are making it clear that they are going to change it – and they are going to make sure you can’t stop them.  They take a very dim view of anything that isn’t a “want” in THEIR eyes and it is clear the above is an extremely veiled threat (to the point of being invisible) against Capitalism. It’s clear that they are now open to being Totalitarian in what they must do – and what you WILL do.

There’s more – a lot more. Comments are a bit scary as well.  An example: do you know that if you are a land owner, that the State still owns your land? And think of THOSE ramifications if true?

I now introduce the idea that Socialists don’t want “fairness”, they want Poverty Fairness!
