Piccola Opera Victorian Singers - Granite Grok

Piccola Opera Victorian Singers

Yesterday was the annual “Just Desserts” at Grokster Mike’s home.  A tradition for years, on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, friends of the family stroll in and out, eating desserts and other assorted offerings, mingling with the others, and having a good time talking and fellowshipping.

Last year (which I missed, sadly) and this year, Mike had the Piccola Opera Victorian Singers (led by Jane Cormier) come to regale the attendees with Christmas carols. Dressed in period costume, they evoked a time gone by when groups of singers would come by and sing in front of peoples’ homes as a matter of course. This year, a reduced number of the students were able to come but still an enjoyable time.

I brought some equipment with me – the LED panels you see over the singers were to enable them to read their music and a larger set of lights to light up the group. Two of my small Mevo cameras provide the right and left side views while my small recording camera provided the front view.  I tell you this because I would normally try to edit all three views into one offering; today, I just don’t have the time to do so. Instead, here are all three views complete in themselves. Pick the one you want!

Note: Jane Cormier is a trained Opera singer and has traveled the world plying her craft. She is also a former NH State Representative and a “Grokster in hiatus”.
