School Board Chair Tammy Fareed Busted For Major Financial Conflict of Interest

SAU41 is a cooperative SAU with Hollis and Brookline but it is the Hollis School District Chair that is having a big problem.  The Hollis School Board made the decision that it was going to mandate masks be worn in the District.

The Chief Cheerleader for this was Hollis Chair Tammy Fareed.

Fareed apparently browbeat (from what I’m told) the other School Board members into voting for it after launching into a tirade that SHE knows far more about masks than anyone present, member and parents.

Why might you ask? Her husband owns several patents on making masks. He gets a royalty for every mask sold.

Is this a conflict of interest, might you ask?  You BETCHA!

Is it actionable?  Yes, yes it is!  And someone, listening to it all, realized that Tammy Fareed just outed herself in a fiduciary conflict of interest.

You see, a School Board member is restricted in participating in any action (like a vote or contract or purchasing) in which she or her family would receive financial remuneration (e.g., “a cut in the action”).

She just bragged about it.  So, play Stupid Games, get Stupid Outcomes. A Legal Complaint has been sent to the NH Department of Education.  Not just a page or two like most of us would do – a FORMAL legal complaint by retired lawyer David Werner; it’s a doozy.

So, we’ll keep this story updated as we can as it is just another taking down of yet another smarmy School Board that believes it is above the Law (but remember, y’all are just Domestic Terrorists).
