Some of us would rather do other stuff (including engineering OTHER software) so we (programmers) are known for spending an inordinate amount of time to take something relatively easy and to try to make it irrelevant.
You know, until the obvious happens with the thoughts of:
- “I have a more ELEGANT way of writing this now”
- “Can I extend this bit to handle THAT issue??”
