No, this is not new, it’s just that their masks have dropped because they believe you can’t do anything about it! ”
Has anyone else noticed a distinct push to equate teachers with parents lately?
It's creepy and wrong.
Students are not your kids. You have not gone through what parents have gone through.
What parents want for their kids trumps what you want for your students. https://t.co/pKO2BZBmus

Sexualizing kids down to kindergarten, lowering achievement scores, putting more emphasis on DIE practices (re: Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, CRT, Critical Race Theory and all of its euphemisms) instead of academic rigor, and openly questioning the role of Parents.
Their emphasis, both through teachers, unions, and School Boards, is that THEY know best what is best for children contra what we know to be best.
This is the mindset and whether or not they realize it, it is a big part of the pushback at school boards across the nation. Why?
They have forgotten their place. They are employees. Period. Valued, if they are doing the things we hire them for (e.g., to actually be successful in delivering educational services). Too many, however, have decided that their ideologies trump our wishes.
No, teachers are not like the rest of us during the pandemic but this is what happens (above tweet, AFT Pez. Weingarten). They really believe in the Democrat Identity Group Politics Totem Pole and see themselves as mere victims.
It’s rather easy to see, given all the complaining they’ve done over the last year and a half without recognizing the hardship they’ve placed on Parents on figuring out alternative arrangements for their children while teachers decided they didn’t have to go to work. But, as most parents observed, still got paid for doing far, FAR less.
It’s a case where teachers have put themselves above Parents in that Totem Pole hierarchy not realizing that a lot of parents either don’t know about that Totem Pole – or do know and despise it.
