The original bad news bears was a crop of ill-mannered children playing a game against their will. I think that describes Democrats’ interest in Foreign policy and their aptitude for it, even with the Good War™ in Afghanistan.
Do you remember that?
After years of mocking the GW Bush and his surge in Iraq, which worked (sort of), the Obamacrats created their own in Afghanistan to distract from Obama’s mounting failures. If I recall the narratives correctly, the quagmire of Asia was a good war, as Peace Price Winner Obama added to his warmonger’s resume.
So we surged into the Stan but with conditions. Thousands of soldiers deployed to a hostile region as therapists and goodwill ambassadors with their hands tied behind their backs.
I like to think of it as American fish in an Islmaofasict barrel. It was a show of force without the force. It was a mess. One we’ve been trying to get out of for years.
Mr. Trump worked hard to get our interest out of the Middle East. He made sure we could be oil independent, and he took no crap from pukes like Iran. Biden is undoing all of that. The same Democrat experts that embrace the mullahs have pulled a plug or two in Afghanistan, and the Taliban couldn’t be happier.
They have conquered ten provincial capitals (out of thirty-four) and are battling around the nation for control (and winning). How many do they need before they can rename it Talibanistan?

The insurgents have moved at speed, seizing new territories almost daily, as US and other foreign troops withdraw after 20 years of military operations.
It is only a matter of time before the Taliban are back in power. With support from Pakistan and perhaps Iran, they will once again become the third party NGO of choice for global nastiness of the Islamofascist variety against the West.
That’s not to suggest we should keep a standing army there or anywhere else, but it was never going to work unless we killed them all, and that’s not practical.
Besides, these tribes have been fighting with each other for centuries, perhaps millennia. The original goal should have been targeted strikes on jihadi resources connected to extracurricular acts of terrorism and little more, though that in itself is fraught with complications.
Not that Team Biden has a clue short of, but their open embrace of chaos, foreign or domestic. Ill-mannered children playing a game against their will.
One critical difference between the Movie Bad News Bears and Biden’s knock-offs is that the former managed to accomplish something despite their challenges. Democrats are not as capable, although I anticipate this regime’s Lenny Reifenshtal will script it differently when they put these historical moments on film for posterity.
