We wrote about Alexa Firman’s plight. Her Bedford bakery was ratted out for not mandating that her employees and customers wear masks during the “Pandemic.”
Simply Delicious Baking Co. owner Alexa Firman received a $500 fine by mail last week from the N.H. Attorney General’s office for “operating in violation of the Governor’s Emergency Order 52.” The letter stated “violations of any Emergency Order are subject to civil penalties of up to $1,000 per violation or up to $2,000 per day under Emergency Order 65.”
We also provided an update on how the AG’s withdrawal of that fine, here.
BEDFORD, New Hampshire – A fine assessed against Bedford bakery “Simply Delicious Baking Co.” for not requiring masks has been withdrawn by the state of New Hampshire. Bakery owner Alexa Firman received media coverage around New Hampshire when she chose to contest the fine last year…In a letter received by the bakery on June 18, 2021, the Attorney General’s office stated that it had decided to withdraw the fine.
The State’s letter reiterated that it continues to believe that the bakery is guilty of violating the Governor’s orders. Yet whatever the State might believe, the bakery is innocent until proven guilty: a legal principle that is not changed by any order of the Governor.
Did you get that last part? She’s still guilty.
That certainly caught my attention.
The AGs office laid upon Alexa a “Guilty” pronouncement. An artifact that I believe is part and parcel of Sununu’s power grab of being a Unitary Governor – assuming the Powers of the Legislature as well as the Powers of the Judiciary.
So I decided to saunter down there last week (July 2nd) to interview Alexa.
I found her to be quite demure – but with that quiet, an unshakable belief that she’s standing up on Principle.
She simply wishes to serve her customers and being a credit to the Bedford community. I will say – and it is my opinion alone – that this action has turned yet another person from an apolitical person who only cared about her family, her career, and her friends into one that now realizes that we citizens HAVE to get involved and hold Government accountable.
No more just taking it “for granted.”
This ought to get interesting.
There are two more segments to this interview. I’ll post them up tomorrow.
Based on the entire interview, and that she reiterated that the AG’s office is still holding her status as Guilty, I reached out to her lawyer to get those official documents.
This out to get interesting as well.
Stay tuned!
