Way to go Hartford Courant. When losing, call yourself a victim and demonize your opposition (behind a paywall) instead of, you know, debating CRT’s premise that one group of people ALWAYS oppresses another simply because of skin color.
And that one can only see a person as part of a collective group. Both views are antithetical to American ideals (reformatted and emphasis mine).
How long is it going to be before those saying that white children are being taught to hate their race realize they are joining a movement that is beginning to sound a lot like the KKK and other groups that have twisted the promise of America into a self-serving message of hate?…A pamphlet for the event, sponsored by a group calling itself “No Left Turn in Education Connecticut,” says that Critical Race Theory is a an “evil, divisive, Marxist anti-American ideology that calls for dismantling and replacing all of our cherished American institutions …”
“This sounds like dog whistle language for racism,” the editors stated, describing the parents advocating for their children at school as having “jumped on a fast-moving bandwagon that paints any mention of diversity or equity as part of a plot to insinuate ‘Critical Race Theory’ into the culture.”
And this must have sounded like a great idea – until it wasn’t and they pulled that info off their website. But fear not! The intent lives on…
Teachers union will research the organizations attacking educators doing anti-racist work
The National Education Association (NEA) adopted a measure designed to thwart the ongoing campaign against so-called “anti-racist” education, which critics have described as a form of neo-racism.
“NEA will research the organizations attacking educators doing anti-racist work and/or use the research already done and put together a list of resources and recommendations for state affiliates, locals, and individual educators to utilize when they are attacked,” the measure reads on NEA’s website.
“The research, resources, and recommendations will be shared with members through NEA’s social media, an article in NEA Today, and a recorded virtual presentation/webinar.”
Hey, NEA and AFT – SIGN US UP AS PRIMARY TARGETS. We’re like the Texas Rangers in this fight – a small handful of courageous Conservatarians vs a large mob with millions. I think you’ll need more money.

This is just stupidity on a stick; I never thought that eating a crepe was an example of that non-grey celled idea of “White Privilege”:
White privilege. White supremacy. White fragility. Whiteness. For the academic left, there’s no aspect of life which cannot be shoehorned into a relationship with these terms. Law (yes, law) professor Mathilde Cohen of the University of Connecticut recently gave a talk at Sciences Po Paris and the University of Nanterre in which, according to The Times, she argued “French eating habits reinforced the ‘dominance’ of white people over ethnic minorities.” “By this,” Cohen says in the clip below, “I mean the use of food to reinforce whiteness as a dominant racial identity.
“The French meal is often presented as the national ritual to which every citizen can participate equally. But French food ways are shaped by white middle- and upper-class norms … and the boundaries of whiteness are policed through daily food encounters.”
So, they should only be partaking of Creole, perhaps? Brazilian? Chinese? Would that help or be ignored and some other reason just pop into your dainty little noggin? I don’t think “policed” means what you say it does…
And yet another “educational group” getting all snitty that their underlings won’t stick with the message:
It’s one that was taken up by the parents of many students at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia. A group of anti-CRT parents ran in the recent PTA elections and won a majority of the seats on the board.
Great news, right? Good to see them getting involved. Except this situation may not last for long. The Virginia state PTA board is threatening to overturn the election results and effectively disband that chapter of the PTA. Apparently, the state board members were not very happy with the results. (Free Beacon)
The Parent Teacher Association of Virginia sent a letter of intent to abolish the parent group of the nation’s top high school after a slate of candidates opposed to critical race theory won an election earlier this month.
The letter, sent to the Parent Teacher Student Association of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology on Wednesday, claims that the recently elected candidates skirted bylaws and created a “hostile environment” for members. This is the latest fallout between pro- and anti-critical race theory factions at the elite high school, which made headlines last fall after district officials abolished its entrance exam in an attempt to boost black and Hispanic enrollment.
The Virginia Parent Teacher Association would circumvent the results of the referendum on Fairfax County Public Schools if it decided to move forward with eliminating Thomas Jefferson’s parent board. Candidates opposed to Thomas Jefferson’s recent equity measures—such as the updated admissions process—won a majority on the association board.
This isn’t about education – this is about having the Power to silence and deplatform ANYONE that stands up and say “NO! Not with our children and not on our watch!” Yup, we want Parents to be active in their education – but only those that agree with us.
The Manhattan Institute’s invaluable Heather Mac Donald wrote “The revolution comes Juilliard” for MI’s City Journal last month. The story Heather tells is a tale of our time from the ever larger land beyond satire. Racial hysteria and opposition to Western civilization are among its themes. Heather’s column concludes:
A leader in the arts world, told of Juilliard’s travails, observes: “This is a crucial time to stand up and call out what is an overly emotional and irrational attack on the best of what humanity has to offer.”
He would not allow me to reveal his name or affiliation.
As I say, beyond satire.
Taking up her column, Quillette‘s Jonathan Kay spoke with Heather “about how a single drama workshop caused Juilliard students to feel ‘traumatized,’ and sparked an activist campaign aimed at undermining the elite school’s famously rigorous standards.”
Like I and many others have said – this is Mao’s Cultural Revolution all over again – and that was a tool strictly to force conformity and lockstep Communist culture onto an entire nation. It only took 40-80 million eggs people to die to make that Collectivist omlette. I guess that Bonheoffer quote can be “First they came for the White Parents, then they came for the artists…”
Yep, this works:
In a clever move to utilize the existing modicum of “cultural competency” training, educators bent on revising American history and pushing equal outcomes have found a place to embed the elements of critical race theory. States are running it up the flagpole and out to local school boards in cleverly packaged messaging that demands equity. The definition of cultural competency to date is hard to argue with. The term—used in practice for roughly 50 years—means “the ability to understand, appreciate and interact with people from cultures or belief systems different from one’s own,” according to the American Psychological Association.
Self-reflecting on one’s attitudes and beliefs about varying cultures goes a long way toward approaching one another with understanding and respect. This is a far cry from revising a nation’s legitimate history for the purposes of appropriating a cultural bias leading to division and anti-American sentiments.
Dig a little deeper and we find that the devil is in the details on the connection between cultural competency and critical race theory. Virginia adapted its concept of “equity” from the National Equity Project and developed a road map to equity plan. Virginia’s African American Superintendent’s Advisory Council put together a slide deck presentation included in the plan.
…When school board members argue at local meetings with protesting parents present that they are not teaching critical race theory per se, or that they are merely seeking to ensure that all races represented in the classroom are treated fairly and respectfully, don’t be fooled. Their rhetoric veils the plan to require not only equal opportunities but guaranteed equal outcomes for all students. This aim disregards the liberties protected in the Constitution. It is a textbook Marxist concept that has been proven not to work repeatedly throughout history.
And this last one is the one that most toasts my cookies – our own Government calling our Founders “Racists” and calling we who recognize them part of the Race problem:
Venerating and celebrating the Founding Fathers is an example of “structural racism,” apparently.
That’s the conclusion of a recently released document created by a National Archives and Records Administration task force on racism. The National Archives and Records Administration is a federal agency charged with taking care of our country’s governmental and historical records, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
Boy, the folks that really work there must truly hate themselves for having created such a hostile work environment for and by themselves, eh? (/sarc)
The lengthy internal document—completed in April, but not released until earlier this month—never mentions critical race theory by name, but it uses all of critical race theory’s buzzwords, lingo, and style of analysis. It highlights “white privilege,” “systemic racism,” and “equity” numerous times. To no one’s surprise, it also cites The New York Times’ dubious 1619 Project and Ibram X. Kendi, the self-styled “anti-racist” whose ideas sound a lot like racism.
The Rotunda of the Capitol building itself is deeply problematic because, according to the task force, it “lauds wealthy white men in the nation’s founding while marginalizing BIPOC [black, Indigenous, and other people of color], women, and other communities.” So, in the name of “diversity, equity, and inclusion,”—the “liberte, egalite, fraternite” of the modern age—the National Archives’ task force has recommended drastic changes to how our founding documents and the Founding Fathers are presented to the public
In short, they hate our actual history, the ideals on which our country is founded, most of the people in the country, and would be, IMHO, be quite happy to tear it all down.
You know, the little things.
