House GOP Cans Liz Cheney … and Then Takes a Giant Step Sort of Sideways.

As I am sure you know, the House GOP canned their third-in-command, the Trump-Deranged, Forever-Warmonger Liz Cheney.

The choice to replace Cheney was between Elise Stefanik (New York) and Chip Roy (Texas). Here is how they compare on some key issues and metrics:

Of course, they chose Stefanik.

Perhaps, Stefanik is the best Republicans can do in a deep BLUE State like New York. But she does not belong in House GOP leadership.

Think about it … a Party that represents middle (geographically and economically) America has picked CALIFORNIA and NEW YORK … two DEEP-BLUE States … as its “face” in the House.

The real problem here is the Leader, Kevin McCarthy … a protege of Paul Ryan and Frank Luntz … and the so-called conservative GOP House-Reps that picked McCarthy as their leader … because Stefanik was his choice, just as Cheney was his choice.

If all 2022 accomplishes is replacing Pelosi and her ilk with McCarthy and his ilk, don’t expect a different result from 2022 to 2024 than we had from 2010 to 2012 when Joh Boehner’s tepid, ineffectual leadership paved the way for Mitt Romney and Obama’s second term.
