Vatican Reminds Catholics They Can’t Bless Same-Sex Marriages (Just In Case They Forgot)

Early on in the process of using political power to cram same-sex marriage down our throats, advocates claimed they only wanted Civil Unions. They got that then came for ‘marriage,’ but said they’d never force anyone to perform a same-sex union. Now, you can’t object without hell breaking loose.

In the midst of all of this, the Vatican has re-upped its position on the matter. Sorry, no can do.

“When a blessing is invoked on particular human relationships, in addition to the right intention of those who participate, it is necessary that what is blessed be objectively and positively ordered to receive and express grace, according to the designs of God inscribed in creation, and fully revealed by Christ the Lord,” the statement explained.

Until we get the Pope Francis Progressive Collective Salvation Bible (comes with a copy of Das Kapitol), “marriage” in the eyes of the Catholic Church is between one biological man and one biological woman.

Before you all butt-hurt, Commie Pope Francis is fine with same-sex civil unions.

Both before and during his papacy, Pope Francis has endorsed the idea of state protections for civil unions. He has also emphasized the dignity of all people, including those who identify as homosexual. “Homosexual people have the right to be in a family. They are children of God,” he said.

And before you start calling me a bigot, I’ve never been opposed to same-sex unions, ever. My position, almost always misrepresented by the left, is that any two adults should be free to form whatever “marriage” contract they might desire, assuming it does not infringe on the rights of others.

Civil unions have at it.

Marriages performed before congregations that have chosen to accept them, knock yourself out.

My objections are not over same-sex unions but the intolerance of some of its advocates. First, I oppose using politics to legalize state force to mandate any marriages (on First Amendment Grounds). Second, I object to any force or intimidation by anyone to coerce anyone else to accept same-sex marriage, bigamy, polygamy, child marriage, traditional marriage, and a list of things too numerous to mention.

But to stay on topic, if two adults want to share their property for as long as they both can stand each other’s company (or shall live), be my guest. Just grant me the same courtesy and the freedom to object to your opinion with as much enthusiasm as you may object to mine.

A far as the Vatican goes, you won’t get your same-sex marriage blessed by any officer of that church, and that’s their right. You should respect it, and if you disagree, worship (or not) someplace else.

And if you are uncomfortable with my Calling the Pope a commie, he is; I’m sorry, but you are free to disagree.
