In the interest of getting along, a California Democrat has proposed new legislation. The No Glory for Hate Act would prohibit the use of federal funds “to create or display any symbol, monument, or statue commemorating any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives.” I wonder what she means?

[N]o Federal funds may be used to create or display any symbol, monument, or statue commemorating any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives on or before the date of enactment of this Act or has been convicted of a State or Federal crime relating to actions taken in an official capacity as President of the United States on Federal public land, including any highway, park, subway, Federal building, military installation, street, or other Federal property; or name, designate, or redesignate a Federal building or Federal land after, or in commemoration of, any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives on or before the date of enactment of this Act or has been convicted of a State or Federal crime relating to actions taken in an official capacity as President of the United States.”
Why not say any former president wrongly accused and investigated for Russian Collusion? Or, how about any president to lose* re-election to hair sniffing gropey, corrupt, career politician named Joe Biden?
Talk about a bitter clinger.
This reminds me of Pharaoh in the Ten Commandments (again). May the name of Moses be stricken, except, in this case, it is may the name of Trump be prohibited on every public street corner, post office, federal building, or obelisk.
Trump can, of course, put his name on anything he likes, has, and will. And unlike former Klan Poobah and longtime Democrat Robert Byrd, Trump uses his own money.
Byrd, an actual racist-hater, was a Democrat US Senator from West Virginia for 51 years. He has more things named after him than some of our Founding Fathers, paid for with your money.
Rep. Linda Sanchez has not, to my knowledge, proposed any limit on federal dollars for that, nor is she brokering for the renaming of all thing ‘Robert C. Byrd.’
West Virginia University has requested Things named after Byrd be changed but not a lot else. And no one seems ready to toss the Klan guy or his name under the bus.
But Trump, who didn’t actually incite violence and is no racist, that guy is a problem. And he is a problem for the Democrat agenda. He is pro-American, not pro-government, and they can’t abide that.
