Rumor Mill: Trump Has Signed the Insurrection Act

The underground buzz for weeks has been that a major communication blackout would occur starting tomorrow. I’m like, sure, right, okay. And now I’ve just stumbled over another big rumor. President Trump has signed the insurrection act.

What does that mean? I don’t know. As I said, it’s a rumor, but we know a few things.  Nancy Pelosi tried to foment a military coup among the Joint Chiefs to remove the president, which they declined to do.

Pictures of armed troops wandering in and around DC have been popping up all over the internet. I suspect they were there for any number of reasons, not the least of which was the recent invasion of the Capitol Building.

There has been that insider scuttlebutt about a communications shutdown I mentioned above.

And that post I wrote a few months back about The Trump Administration’s mountain of sealed indictments to issue keeps finding its way into the top five.

These things all suggest that the plan has been to invoke the Act that, according to History.com, can be

“… found in Section 253 of Title 10 of the U.S. Code, which gives the president the right to take military action within a state when “any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law, and the constituted authorities of that State are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection.”

You will have by now seen a letter or video of affidavit relating to evidence that Italy meddled in the US elections.

If true and supported by evidence, that could be grounds for “the right to take military action within a state when “any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law, and the constituted authorities of that State are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection.”

I can say that nearly 80 million Americans feel like that’s happened to them.

So, what else does it mean?

Invoking the Insurrection Act is more common than you would think. According to History.com, it has been invoked at least a half-dozen times since Thomas Jefferson asked Congress for the power, all invoked for various reasons, but none quite like this.

The Colorado Herald is asking the same question? Was it signed? Would Trump exercise that power? Or is it just a rumor?

After four years of Leftists calling him Hitler and a Tyrant, you’d have to expect them to believe it.

Then there is this guy who says it was signed, but who is he? I have no idea. But he claims we will all be under Martial Law soon. The military has begun to arrest alleged players involved in whatever it is that’s going down.

And I’m still skeptical, but I also have to wonder if this had anything to do with the rumor that Trump would speak to America last night.

Who knows? Not me. But the speculation makes for interesting exchanges in comments, so here’s another opportunity for that, if nothing else.
