Massachusetts: Quarantine for NH Residents Travelling to the State*

Maskachusetts has declared New Hampshire and Maine high-risk states. If you plan to travel into the Bay State, you may need to get a negative test within three days of arriving or quarantine for 14 days.

In other words, stay out, except!?*

“While New Hampshire’s case rate is substantially lower than Massachusetts’, each state can enact their own guidelines. New Hampshire is not considering further travel restrictions from other New England state’s at this time, and would remind individuals that essential trips like commuting, critical day trips and medical care are allowed under Massachusetts’ new guidelines,” said Governor Chris Sununu in a statement.

Because thousands of people coming and going and interacting with Massachusetts residents in offices or other approved facilities isn’t going to do the thing they say will happen if a few thousand more people do the same thing for any other reason.

Makes no sense.

Thanksgiving is probably not essential to the politicians, but I bet it is for plenty of folks heading south for the Holiday to visit with family. Call it a critical mental health visit because afterward, you’ll need therapy. As if you don’t need the “getting out and doing things” sort of therapy already.

Politicians: Hey, the holidays are coming. Let’s amp up the likelihood of depression and suicide. Great Idea. We’ll say it’s for the public good.

As far as we are concerned, create your own loophole. That’s what the government did to enact all these nutty mandates.

Guess what, they said. We discovered that we could limit travel, hours of operation, which business can stay open, constrain your movements and behavior, and make you wear things on your face that don’t do anything except declaring your compliance.

I have no skin in that game, no reason to go to Massachusetts, and I’m thankful for that. I’m also certain that if I did, I would come and go and ignore their illegitimate declarations of authority.

As predictions go, it is a safe bet to say many other people will do the same.
