Vote by Mail isn’t Gonna Work if the Mail Carriers are Afraid to Pick up the Mail

Mail box

The Democrats have been using the United States Post office as a 2020 Presidential campaign cudgel for the past few months now. The emails I get from them are all about SAVE THE USPS, SUPPORT THE USPS, ORANGEMAN BAD POLITICAL INTEFERENCE, TRUMP’S POSTMASTER TRYING TO KILL THE POST OFFICE…you get the picture.

Pick a target, freeze it – and use it as a Narrative for political purposes. They never state it but they see any action to make it better or readjust where resources are placed as threats to:

  • One of their trustworthy Union allies – the Postal Union that has come out for Biden
  • Ruin their latest ploy on voter fraud – Universal Ballot mail outs/back in.

But what are they going to say then their own Postal Union endorsement throws a mail bag into the works (reformatted, emphasis mine)?

Chicago postal workers threaten to stop delivering mail after multiple employees shot on the job
A 24-year-old mail carrier was critically injured after getting shot on her route earlier this month

United States Postal workers who deliver mail in some of Chicago’s more violent neighborhoods are threatening to halt their services after a mail carrier was shot in the city’s South Side earlier this month. The carrier, a 24-year-old woman, was left critically and injured after being shot multiple times at 91st Street and Ellis Avenue while delivering mail on September 10. Police said the worker did not appear to be the target and had been caught in the crossfire during a drive-by.

Chicago’s WSL-TV reported that she was the second mail carrier wounded by gunfire on that route. Another mail carrier, also caught in the middle of gunfire, was shot in March while on the job but survived. A day after the second worker was shot, another USPS employee was hit with a paintball in Chicago’s South Side.

Is anyone really surprised at this? Mayor Lightfoot keeps blaming the gun problem on States like Indiana that have far lax gun control laws on the books while Chicago has some of the tightest. Yet, when she’s been asked why Indiana doesn’t have the same problem, she (as well as other Chicago politicians) has reverted to blithering and bloviating.

The problem is a GANG problem, a CULTURE problem which Chicago’s elected representatives refuse or can’t deal with (some sources I’ve read over the years say there is a tight bond between the two groups). What also doesn’t help is the revolving door of Chicago’s Justice department – there’s never the harsh penalties given out that are necessary to start the stopping of this.

So, go figure that at some point, the USPS folks are going to end up in this – and they only have Democrats to blame for the insecurity of the streets.

Chicago postal workers rallied on Friday to demand that city officials address the threat to mail carriers’ safetyThe Blaze reported. Mack Julion, president of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers, advised workers to stop delivering in areas where they feel unsafe.

“Any letter carrier who does not feel safe in any one of these communities then they are not to deliver mail and customers have to pick up their mail,” Julion said. “We are not going to have another situation where the letter carrier is shot down.”

So, Chicago is a major town in the US – #3 by population. IF mail in ballots are being lost in the city, this could screw the Harris Biden campaign. Most of the surrounding areas are rural and tend to be more conservative in nature. Eliminate those Chicago votes, especially if the Union REALLY hammers down on their demand and it could swing the Electoral College vote.

Now, am I just dreaming here? Possibly, probably. But the point is that this would be a great example that Democrat governance practices (or the lack thereof) set up a ripple effect upward.

Who knows!  Will the Chicago Machine force them to knuckle under? Most likely but I do wonder about other cities that are undergoing the BLM/Antifa riots are seeing similar situations?
