All of NH Governor Chris Sununu’s 22 Vetoes Upheld by the NH House

There were not nearly as many vetoes from Governor Sununu this session as last, but then there were. One Omnibus piece of legislation was a trash can bill stuffed with some 40 odds and ends the Democrats wanted pushed through the COVID fearmongering amended legislative session.

Much of that was never before a committee for a public hearing (legislative, social distancing, you know), so it deserved to be shot down though Flununu did sign one such bill.

From DoubleYouEmYouAre,

CONCORD, N.H. —New Hampshire lawmakers on Wednesday failed to override more than 20 bills vetoed by Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, including one containing 40 wide-ranging measures that was passed during a truncated session in the coronavirus pandemic. – Lawmakers said the bill would have changed building codes to help construction workers; provided death benefits to emergency medical technicians and rescue squad members; set up a database to track animal health records; allowed for expanded voting for sports book retail locations; and regulate hemp, among many other topics.

Democrats seemed more upset about free individuals (Republicans) refusing to kneel to their mask mandates or the pledge. They took to Twitter to whine about it, hoping the fearmongered masses would punish these reps come November for their free-thinking ways. I’m not sure that will work. The only people who really care are Democrats who would just as soon not wear them either, but they’ve got appearances to keep, at least while people might see.

Oh, and there this, related to us this morning by Rep. Judy Aron.

We prevented higher taxes, restrictions on gun rights, and an income tax and sales taxes. We prevented more regulation on businesses and higher electricity costs to consumers. We prevented bills whose mandates would have raised insurance premiums and stifled choices in educating our children. We prevented bills that would have hurt businesses by mandating them to pay higher wages for unskilled jobs, and bills that would have hurt the integrity of our elections. We prevented bills that would have taken away privacy rights, parental rights, and personal freedoms. Most of all, the Governor and House Republicans worked hard to prevent New Hampshire from becoming California, New York, or Connecticut.

There’s some good Sloganeering in there. Cuomo (New York) had spending and budget issues before sending sick people into his Nursing Homes. And California is on fire, has riots, rolling blackouts, and looks more like a third world country.

Judy is correct that NH Dems want what they all have. Democrat one-party states that lead to systemic failure across the board.

Hopefully, voters will sense this, with perhaps some prodding, and vote the leftie out of the majority and keep the Governor’s office out of their hands.

We could not only sleep better; we can do it with electricity, probably. The New England grid is a mess. Democrats all over New England, including in New Hampshire, have done everything they can to ensure we lose power in the winter. Not from storms but decades of bad policy and years of protests against Natural Gas pipelines or any other electricity or energy supply.

As I like to say, Democrats destroy everything they touch. New York and California are great examples of this disease’s advanced state, but if we’re not careful, we’ll fall victim too.
