With the New Hampshire primary just ten days away it’s crunch time. Candidates are rolling out last-minute endorsements and pimping their political “wares.” One of those contests is to determine the Republican nominee for Governor of NH. Some say, what’s the point? I’m happy to explain.
ICYMI: Anyone else have this dream?
The prevailing notion is that the incumbent, Chris Sununu, has a cakewalk. He’s not really campaigning. He has campaign signs out (because there are Democrats running to replace him). But he does not appear worried about primary challengers.
I think he should be. Not because he could lose the nomination but because a solid showing of primary support for anyone but him looks bad.
He generally enjoys high approval ratings but that’s not necessarily among voters who will show up under the pall of covid fearmongering he has helped sow to vote in a primary. People who will make a point of casting ballots on Sept. 8th either in protest or in a genuine effort to depose him.
The dynamics are interesting so let’s take the temperature.
Who is your Primary candidate of choice for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Hampshire?
This poll is live and closes at midnight tomorrow night, Sunday, Aug 30th.
