“Some rob you with a gun, while others rob you with a pen – We ain’t paying crap.”

Civil Disobedience – it’s always a “thing” with the Left. Don’t like something, especially when a Republican is in charge? Demonstrate, protest, break the law – usually for some type of Left-wing mantra that will leave the rest of us poorer, take freedoms away, or lower our standard of living.

Because they think THEIR mission is more important than the effect it has on others.

During this Wu Flu pandemic sponsored economic shutdown, (in this example) the shoe is on the other foot; it is a Democrat in charge and boy, is Penn. Gov. Tom Wolf (D) loving that emergency power. So when I saw this headline, I just had to share:

‘We ain’t paying crap’: Italian restaurant racks up $10K in fines for opening before governor allows — but owners are defiant ‘There’s absolutely no fear here. We’re going to continue to come to work, and the governor ain’t going to do anything about it.’

Despite racking up $10,000 in fines for opening up early in violation of Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf’s coronavirus lockdown, Palmyra restaurant Taste of Sicily remains defiant, PennLive reported.

“Some rob you with a gun, while others rob you with a pen,” co-owner Mike Mangano noted to the outlet, referring to Wolf. “We ain’t paying crap.”

A perfect observation made: Government stealing at the end of a pen. It may be “legal” only in that the Legislature gave away their Powers to the Executive Branch to be able to issue royal decrees all by its lonesome but does it make it Right?

Look at the Black Lives Matter movement where the color of one’s skin is an argument of “essential” or “not essential.”

How is this any different in the economic world? In both cases, the Government decided winners and losers. In the former case, that wrong has been paid for in blood. In this latter case, the consent is being withdrawn because of the “crime” of just wanting to work to support one’s family. “We ain’t paying crap” = “Up Your’s”; either is a proper response.

Mike Mangano and his sister Christine Wartluft are made to be second, third…bottom level citizens – non-entities. The government won’t and doesn’t care if they survive. If you go to the below link, it is clear that the Government workers haven’t a “care”

Sidenote: Progressives keep trying to tell us that Government is a “family”; we’re all in this together. It is clear in the video that the Government workers could care less. Walk in, drop the $4,000 fine, walk out, and get back into their cars (one, a nice, shiny BMW), without even giving the owners the courtesy of a “Good morning” and explain what they are doing. Too often, that’s the level of “Government cares for you”.

You know, this whole thing has been pushing my “libertarian leanings” (as in Conservatarian -> Conservative with libertarian leanings”) a whole lot lately. The government is supposed to GOVERN, not rule. We are to be GOVERNED by three c0-equal Branches and not a Unitary Government based on one or two statutes that effectively make a Governor a royal King. We fought against that 240 odd years ago (question: do your children know WHY? Do they even KNOW?) – why would “they” not expect a lot of us to still remember that?
