NH-NeverTrump Credits Sununu With Helping to Wreck TrumpRallyNH

So one of today’s Democrat memes is that the TrumpRallyNH was cancelled … not because of the weather … but because of anticipated low attendance. For example:

The article is quintessential FakeNews. The “GOP advisers” are unnamed and are not even part of the Trump campaign. In other words, they do not exist or they are NeverTrump.

I found this noteworthy, however:

The New Hampshire GOP state party was “scrambling all week trying to get people to attend,” according to a prominent anti-Trump Republican, who cited Gov. Chris Sununu’s own refusal to attend the mass gathering as a reason locals may have decided to skip the event.

To be clear, the article does to contain a scintilla of actual evidence that any “locals … decided to skip the event.”

This unnamed “prominent anti-Trump Republican” -presumably Jennifer Horn- wants us to believe that the turnout would have been underwhelming and that Sununu’s decision to boycott played a part.

To reiterate, the article does to contain any actual evidence that any “locals … decided to skip the event.” But I cannot imagine that Sununu’s announcement that he would NOT attend the TrumpRallyNH:

“I’m going to go and greet the President as the governor,” he said. “I will not be in the crowd of thousands of people, I’m not going to put myself in the middle of a crowd of thousands of people, if that’s your question specifically. I try to — unfortunately, you know, I have to be extra cautious as the governor, I try to be extra cautious for myself, my family.”

and statements such as that it was “imperative” that attendees wear masks was at all helpful to the Trump campaign.

Quite the contrast between Sununu trying to have it both ways and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who stood unequivocally and unapologetically with President Trump when the Democrats and NeverTrump tried to wreck the Mount Rushmore celebration:
