Normally I would have put this up as a Notable Quote until I read the last sentence. Twice. If only I could be there in person to make sport of them:
UCLA recently suspended a lecturer, Gordon Klein, after he declined a demand that he make a final exam “no-harm”—that is, it could only boost grades—for students of color traumatized by the events in Minneapolis. Klein refused, in accordance with guidance from UCLA’s administration not to give students much leeway on exams. In response, the activists launched a change.org petition to get Klein fired, and the school suspended him. His irritated reply to the activists—that he would not give preferential exam treatment to students because of their skin color—has prompted UCLA to investigate him for racial discrimination.
NOT giving “affirmative action” is now racial discrimination? Treating everyone exactly the same is racial discrimination?
I dunno about you, but this is a SHINING example of the Left’s redefining our common language out from underneath us. Truly – ignoring one’s race is now racial discrimination? Do they ever think of standing in front of a mirror and telling yourself what you’re about to tell someone else – and see how crazy it sounds? Obviously not this time. And given what I’ve been reading lately, this guy will get a big legal payout later on.
More and more, Political Correctness is putting people into “no-win” situations – and with anxious snowflakes and anxiously awaiting opportunities to make OTHERS anxious about their lives (so as to enhance their victimhood, I guess) this time in our country is really turning into an evil cross of Mao’s Cultural Revolution and the J’ACCUSE of the French Revolution. Yet, this generation has no idea that there is “nothing new under the sun” (and I’m betting most of them don’t understand that reference, either).
As Heinlein said, we’re living in the Crazy Years.
