Sununu’s Commission on Law Enforcement Accountability, Community, and Transparency is Reckless Pandering to the Left

So, as you may know, Governor Sununu, in response to the killing of George Floyd, established a Commission on Law Enforcement Accountability, Community, and Transparency.

According to Sununu, New Hampshire is at a “pivotal moment”:

“New Hampshire finds itself in a pivotal moment that demands prompt action to initiate important conversations and develop recommendations for reform,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “The state has an obligation to participate in the national conversation and engage in self-examination to identify any opportunities to improve the state of our law enforcement and the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve, and I would like to thank the members of this commission for agreeing to serve.”

Of course, the “pivotal moment” rhetoric is total bullshit. George Floyd was killed half a continent away, and the violence and looting and destruction … in a word, terrorism … we have been seeing nightly is occurring in cities and States run by Democrats because their Democrat leaders will not let the police do their jobs.

This latest commission is just another example of Sununu “coopting” an issue. Stated slightly differently, it’s all about and only about using the issue to boost his poll numbers.

Indeed, as soon as he was criticized for not having a member of Black Lives Matter on the commission he immediately added one. Here are his thoughts on the organization:

“Black Lives Matter has been one of the leading voices on this issue in the last month,” Sununu said. He commended Tshiela and her organization for having the “right message at the right time in the right way,” that has “resonated throughout the entire state.”

Are you kidding me? Calling law enforcement “systemically racist” and calling for the police to be defunded, which is the Black Lives Matter “message” is the “right message”? Sununu’s endorsing this “message” is reckless.

While ANTIFA … and, yes, Black Lives Matter … have so far not conducted terrorist operations in New Hampshire, there is no guarantee that this will last forever. Do we really want law enforcement to not have sufficient resources to deal with the Leftist militias we have seen terrorizing other States? Do we really want law enforcement afraid to do their jobs for fear of being charged with “systemic racism” and ritually humiliated?

More generally, Black Lives Matter is a Marxist … both culturally and economically … organization.

From a 2016 article from NBC, Black Lives Matter’s “platform”:

1. End the war on black people.

2. Reparations for past and continuing harms.

3. Divestment from the institutions that criminalize, cage and harm black people; and investment in the education, health and safety of black people.

4. Economic justice for all and a reconstruction of the economy to ensure our communities have collective ownership, not merely access.

5. Community control of the laws, institutions and policies that most impact us.

6. Independent black political power and black self-determination in all areas of society.

##5-6 represent Black separatism … the so-called “autonomous zones” or “occupied zones” we have seen in Seattle and seen attempted in other cities. #4 is Marxism. #3 is defunding the police. #2 speaks for itself. #1 is pure propaganda – there is no war on Black people.

Yet Sununu heaps praise on Black Lives Matter. Shame on him.
