Despite a Couple of Hiccups … NH-House-GOP Have Their Best Session Day

This:

Oh I beg to differ Comrade Ley. The House GOP did exactly the job we expect them to do, which is to stop you and your fellow Marxists from passing bad bills.

So, I say in ALL CAPS for emphasis: THANK YOU HOUSE GOP.

And another thing Comrade Ley, COVID is not the reason you missed the deadline and needed GOP votes to suspend the rules to let you pass all the bad bills you wanted to pass. You chose to let the deadline pass, so you could grandstand and virtue-signal about COVID, which is less dangerous than the seasonal flu for all but the very elderly and the immunocompromised. So, Comrade Ley, if you want to see who did NOT do their job … as you put it … look in the damn mirror.

Now the two GOP hiccups. The first was this:

As far as I know, we still don’t know that Floyd was the victim of racial animus or the victim of a deranged, sadistic cop who would have killed Floyd the same way if he had been White.

More importantly, what about all the people killed or injured by the “peaceful protests”? And all the businesses looted and/or burned to the ground? By supporting a moment of silence that excluded these victims of violence the House-GOP … unintentionally, I’m sure … was sending the message that the violence they suffered was justified.

Perhaps there was no mechanism to amend the moment of silence. Still the House-GOP should have made it clear immediately afterwards (that is what social media is for) that they were also rising in support of the victims of the mob AND that their rising should not be interpreted as agreement with the false Black Lives Matter narrative that racist police are killing Blacks daily.

The second hiccup was this:

Only 57 votes? Come on House-GOP it’s time to end the “state of emergency.”

As noted above, COVID is less dangerous than the seasonal flu for all but the very elderly and the immunocompromised. We have known this for weeks, and therefore the “state of emergency” should have been ended weeks ago. My sense is many voted to continue the “state of emergency” so as not to embarrass the Governor, but you owe Sununu nothing – he threw you under the bus with his #MailInVoting decree.

Aside from those hiccups, great job! So, I say again, and again in ALL CAPS for emphasis: THANK YOU HOUSE GOP.
