It’s been a bad few weeks for the Climate Cult. I know, they’re trying to pretend this coronavirus chaos is a planetary punishment, Book of Gore [New Chapter, old verse], but it’s not true. And other truths have intruded pushing their agenda backward.

Woohan Floo started in a country that is still part of the Paris Climate Accord. Plastic bag, cup, and straw bans have been abandoned by even the most left-leaning bastions because these germ mules were always a public health threat. And while the Enviro-Socialists are celebrating a massive decline in productivity and human transportation (and lives), the planet just kicked them in the gut.
CO2 just hit a record high, despite the planet-wide shutdown.
Most of the world’s economies shut down weeks ago. Highways are often barren. But late March into April we see measured atmospheric CO2 recorded at close to 418 ppm.
Man’s output is of little concern to the matter of how much CO2 is in the atmosphere. And the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has no bearing at all on long term temperatures, weather, or climate. We’ve provided plenty of actual science that proves that (like this, as one example).
Something else this graph demonstrates. The Northern Hemisphere growing season consumes large amounts of this plant fertilizer. As the weather (and water) warm the oceans release more carbon dioxide. But instead of CO2 rising in the summer it declines. Every year. Because of plants! A trend that will continue with or without us, though these annual upward increases could change as we enter the Grand Solar Minimum. Longer cooler summers and weird winters may mean cooler oceans. Cool oceans give up less carbon dioxide and there’s no amount of carbon taxes, bans, regulations, or other political interventions that will change any of that.
All those things do is advance a partisan political agenda focused on shifting us away from free-market capitalism. The most effective tool for creating equality and lifting people out of poverty the world has ever seen. But one that encourages you to keep power and responsibility in your hands and out of the hands of the government.
Socialists, naturally, don’t care for that, so they make up scary stories then lie to you about their ability to save you from the false-terror they have concocted.
It’s a big lie. The BIG Lie, actually. One that is redirecting trillions annually away from more productive purposes to “cure” a non-problem which is ironic. None of their solutions is cleaner, most are more dangerous, and all of them are less reliable.
The shutdown may suck, and it may be another overreaction, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still learn something useful from it.
