Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) tested positive for COVID-19, according to his Facebook Page.

Senator Rand Paul has tested positive for COVID-19. He is feeling fine and is in quarantine. He is asymptomatic and was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events. He was not aware of any direct contact with any infected person. He expects to be back in the Senate after his quarantine period ends and will continue to work for the people of Kentucky at this difficult time. Ten days ago, our D.C. office began operating remotely, hence virtually no staff has had contact with Senator Paul.

It’s great to hear he has been feeling fine and is now in quarantine, but man has Senator Paul had a rough go of these past couple years. First, he got shot at while practicing for baseball. Then, he was attacked while cutting his grass and was badly injured. Now he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Hopefully, he will weather this and be back to the Senate soon. As the Senate is in session, let’s hope that no other Senators have contracted the disease from Rand in the past week or two.
Upshot for Rand, now he doesn’t have to vote for the massive stimulus/bailout package headed to the Senate floor tomorrow.
