The Women’s Defense League of New Hampshire held their annual 2nd Amendment Rally yesterday at the State House in Concord. Despite coronavirus concerns (yes, there was hand sanitizer), hundreds gathered in support of their 2nd Amendment rights and against the outrageous gun control being pushed and passed by Democrats in the legislature. The house passed several ridiculous pieces of gun control legislation this week alone, while in session.
Although a bit windy (a tent may have been destroyed), the day was sunny, dry and not too cold as it had been in previous years. Former NH Senator Kevin Avard kicked off the event with the invocation and children from around New Hampshire sang the National Anthem as the crowd sang along with them. Avard also gave a passionate speech about the importance of 2nd Amendment rights.
Several board members from the Women’s Defense League emceed the event and spoke as well as state representatives Jeanine Notter, Terry Roy and Judy Aron. Former NH Senator and president of ProGun NH, Bob Clegg also spoke as did Dr. Michael Layon Jr. Matt Mayberry rounded out the speakers. He was recently named an Honorary Lifetime Member by the League for his support and partnership with them at the NH Gun Shows and 4G Networking events over the past several years.
As usual, the event was a family affair with kids and lots of family pets, all donning pearls in support of the League!
2A Tactical was handing out free 30 round magazines to attendees (partially in response to the legislature seeking to ban all rifle magazines that hold over 10 rounds).
There were a slew of raffles thanks to the generous donations of individuals and businesses around the state including a 5.56 Palmetto State Armory ‘Freedom Rifle’ from Kellie at Revive Salon; a pistol from Wildlife Sport Outfitters; a Smith & Wesson M&P .15/.22 rifle from Merrimack Firearms; almost 3,000 rounds of .22 ammunition from John Yule, Vice Chair of the Milford Republican Committee; three hand-made wooden flags from Brian Snell of Rustic Glory NH and a gorgeous set of real pearls donated by Judy and Michael Aron.
There was also a free raffle for door prizes. A ticket was given if people signed a board to let Governor Sununu know they want him to continue to Hold the Line against gun control. Stateline Gun Shop, Old Glory Guns, Cheryl Dean, Margaret Kris, Kellie at Revive Salon and Matt Mayberry all contributed great prizes to help support the League.
All proceeds will help the Women’s Defense League in their mission to educate and train women and girls how to safely and accurately shoot as well as advocating for 2nd Amendment rights.
An 8 year old little girl named Abigail, who was in attendance with her father, stole the show when she was asked to come up on stage and explain what she understands about the 2nd Amendment. She had responded quite vocally against gun control during a speech.
Abigail is clearly smarter than any of the ‘adults’ pushing Bloomberg’s gun control agenda in the NH Legislature:
If they do end up taking guns away, they’re only taking guns from honest people because criminals are still going to find a way to get guns.
As always, the rally went off without a hitch and a good time was had by all. More and more Granite Staters are realizing just how dangerous Bloomberg Democrats are to their freedom. The big message of the day was to take action and become involved so that these people don’t have the power to continue pushing their gun control agenda in one of the safest states in the country.
