So … on March 2nd:
And two days later:
I get it. New Hampshire is NOT a “Red State.” It’s not even a “Purple State.” It’s a Blue State, and in order for someone calling himself a Republican to be elected to statewide office, he or she is going to have to break with the Party on some issues.
For example, I don’t think that at this time a pro-Life Republican could be elected statewide in New Hampshire.
But is it necessary to co-opt virtually every issue? Is it necessary to go to the same extremes as the Democrats … e.g., “post-birth abortion” … every time? How does doing that move the State back to even the center, never mind center-right?
Sununu’s rationale for joining the lawsuit is nonsensical. The ONLY way Obamacare will ever be replaced is if it is struck down by the United States Supreme Court and Congress, as a result, is forced to come up with a compromise.
This takes John Kerry’s “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it” to a whole new level … “I actually supported and opposed Obamacare at the same time.”
