Democrat Kathleen Martins Wins NH House Special Election in “Republican” Hooksett

The results of the special election in Hooksett are in and Democrat Kathleen Martins is the newest member of the New Hampshire House. Martins is the winner by a vote of 1000 to 961

This flips a seat previously held by a Republican, which will make the Democrats very happy. They’ve been looking for some sign that they can compete and win a Republican-leaning district.

Democrats will say this it is a sign of the apocalypse for Trump, Governor Sununu, and Republicans but it might be simpler than that.

Maybe smear campaigns work and the beatings will continue.

The obvious response to that is more of the same in the other direction.
