Fat Jerry Nadler already accusing US Senate Republicans of violating their oaths

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

-US Senate oath of office

These Democrats want it both ways, don’t they? If you watched any of the procedural antics on the strictly partisan Democrat “Impeachment Inquiry” whereby hardly any Republican input was allowed, I guess the Demcrats considered it “fair”.  If you watched the actual Impeachment Articles being put into play and then voted upon, then “fair” still only meant that Democrats ran roughshod over their Republican “friends and colleagues”. “Sham” doesn’t begin to cover it but elections have consequences and since the Dems own the House and the Constitution says that the US House can run by its own rules, well, there you go.

But now, we see Fat Jerry trying to strong arm the Senate via that oath (above) to have it say things that aren’t in there (as if the House Dems are of the innocence of “driven white snow”). Reformatted, emphasis mine:

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler accused Senate Republicans of violating their oath to be impartial jurors in an impeachment trial, as GOP senators defended their right to work for President Donald Trump’s acquittal. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said last week that he was working in “total coordination” with the White House — something Nadler, D-N.Y., characterized Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” as akin to “the foreman of the jury saying he’s going to work hand in glove with the defense attorney.”

“That’s in violation of the oath that they’re about to take, and it’s a complete subversion of the constitutional scheme,” Nadler said.

Go ahead, show us how that oath is bent? I find it highly curious that the Dems made it quite clear that from before he took office, they were going to impeach Trump BEFORE he did anything. And does he forget what all of the Democrat Senators now running (or have dropped out) said about this?  They ALL said they were in favor of impeachment – every single one. So, Fat Jerry, how about you clean up your own Political Party of impropriety.

It is rather doubtful that he will. Especially since Pelois is also whining about getting a “fair trial” (thank you, Steve!) from the other end:

The Democrats who rediscovered the Founders and the Constitution to excuse their impeachment circus have undiscovered it. After voting to impeach the president, Speaker Pelosi says she won’t send the Articles of impeachment to the Senate right away. She’s concerned it won’t get a fair trial.

“We will make our decision as to when we are going to send it when we see what they are doing on the Senate side,” Ms. Pelosi said. “So far, we have not seen anything that looks fair to us.”

Anyone who watched even a moment of the Democrat lead House hearings just snorted coffee out their nose (to borrow a phrase from Jan Schmidt – more on that later today). Messrs. Schiff and Nadler ran their respective operations with such dishonor, indignity, and dare I say unfairness, that this is why we call it a circus.

Fair for me but not for thee.  Fair is when both sides are treated equally on all counts; the process so far has not been the epitome of such.

Frankly, I haven’t figure out which I’d rather see – a long drawn out trial that goes over ALL of the “evidence” that the Dems used to create their Articles of Impeachment using an electron microscope (as it seems that’s the magnitude of the “truth” within their reasoning and ALSO keeps the remaining Democrat Senator Prez Wannabees on the sidelines from campaigning for MONTHS) or a short one that just simply goes “there’s no “there” there except a Democrat partisan rush to not do their homework”, or just a curt “garbage, into the can the Articles go”.

ANY of those would be in the same league of “fair” as what the Democrats showed over these hearings so far – THEY set the rules.

Now, they are demanding that the Senate, controlled by the Republicans, NOT use those same rules of decorum and political outlook. Hahahahahaaha – all of us should be demanding that the Republicans go by the exact same rules in their Impeachment trial that the House Dems just used.

I would thing that if the Republicans have any wits at all, the campaign ads will write themselves no matter what happens.

Imagine: first time that a partisan House voted for Impeachment – and then turned tail and not turning them in. It would be a kleig light shining upon the message of:

“it was always only a political stunt and now we’re all dogs that caught our own rusty bumper”.
